Ottawa Ontario Canada I have my personay autographed album from all the guys. 1983 Here's to Steve & Gordie. Our day will come in another time another place. Oh, how time goes by. I wont keep you waiting much longer.🙋♂️
@LittleDragon2000 I saw The Nylons back in '79 or '80 in Vancouver, BC when they were first starting out. We were just amazed by their talent. After the first song, one forgot that there were no back up instruments. I been a fan of theirs ever since.
As they advertised themselves in the concert I saw, they truly were the original 'boy band'. No 4 or 5 part group comes close to what the Nylons of the 80s were like! Their music just takes me back when I was young and singing, trying to sing like them. Awesome!!
I was at the Juno awards in '82 or '83 to cover them for a CBC programme called "What's New", and The Nylons were nominated. I was only 15 and awed by everything already, then Marc walked over to me to say how much he liked my shoes. Then I asked him to sign my program and he was just so nice. I met tons of amazing people that night, including Bryan Adams, but The Nylons guys and Shari Ulrich were the nicest.
I went out and immediately bought their album......which was unbelievable.....being a NYer and living in the south and loving Acapella by any Great Group !! And this is a great group....with a smidgeon of jazz.
Saw them in concert in Vermont, back in the mid 80's...and they were AWESOME! My husband and I took our kids when they were little, 8-12, and they loved them!
Many Many years ago I was on a ski trip in Banff Canada, and found out that "The Nylons" were doing a show in Calgary, an hour away, so we drove in for the show. "The Nylons" did not disappoint of course. Then, when flying from Calgary back home to Ottawa the "The Nylons" were on my flight! The second the fasten seat belt light was out, I rocketed out of my seat and went to meet all of the group and get their autographs on my in-flight magazine. What a thrill that was for me!
They were incredibly nice guys, and I've yet to find any other entertainer who was so generous to their fans. Met them a couple of times, and never took that for granted.
I’m envious and happy for you meeting them in person. 1985 my family piled into the station wagon and drove to their concert. None of my friends had heard of them until a few years later when Rockapella came storming on the airwaves…Marc and Arnold were my favorites
Getting sleep been tough lately, but finally got an 8 hour night after being out of touch with this music for years. What do I dream of? No world ending apocalypse this time, but on stage in what I can only gather is a West Side Story: Edinburgh Edition And I was holding a script with no clue what my own character's name was and freaking out- until the guy and gal I was on stage with started singing this 😂 It all came together for me in about 5 seconds and then was an absolute blast, so glad SOMETHING brought me back here to a childhood dig, these guys are so great!
Back in the day, I saw these guys a couple of times live. It was so funny the first time I saw them. It was a small venue, and they had a second show right after the show I was attending. They started having so much fun with the audience. They were joking around to the point where their sound guy yelled and chastised them because they were going to start eating into the start time for their second show. That was such a fun show, and I was so impressed by their talents.
I saw them in Carnegie Hall in the 1980's and still remember the excitement they generated, the incredible sound they created, the joy felt by the audience.
My Quaker Parrot absolutely loves this! He bobs and weaves his head and chirps. It's hilarious. It is happy behaviour. Believe me, we know the difference. And, not, I'm not about to video him and post it.
I was lucky enough to find their album "One Size Fits All". Then I saw The Nylons live in Sydney and I couldn't believe they could sing like this AND do all the perfect dance steps. Talent like this makes life worth living, surely.
Yea, I am like 12 years old, yet I still love this. That's saying something about the quality of their music. I mean, do you know how hard it is to please teens? =D
They themselves were the show. Real talneted ppl.Now they need a lot of technnology, visual effects, a lot of back-up dancers, etc., etc.Artist today have a lot of help.
What I'm disappointed in is that there's no recording of their great rendering of the Tymes' "So Much In Love", where Arnold took the lead. And I've been to three Nylons' concerts where they've done that one, but those who acompaniedme those nights don't remember that tune, probably as it's not that well known to post-boomers.
@xav8rdan So true, SnC's version is good but completely derivative. It takes 10 of them to achieve the same sound that these four guys do. RIP Marc Connors.
This is what voices sound like when they don't have a bunch of electronic crap making them better. Real talent doesn't need that garbage. Too much of todays music is a failed attempt at polishing a turd...... The cream will always rise to the top.
I love this version and this performance. And the icing on the cake is a (white?) audience that can clap in time. How did they manage that? Do Canadians have something in their genes?
I fell in love with this song in 1987 when I first saw the film "Made in Heaven".
That movie is why I am here lol, such a great movie and beautiful, relevant song
Hello how are you doing today
Claude is the only surviving original. God bless him for keeping The Nylons alive!
How are you doing today..?😊

marc connors. such a powerful voice. one of the most underrated singers of all time
Michael McLean Such a shame he passed away so early... amazing voice.
Michael McLean And in recent times, we've lost Arnold Robinson and Paul Cooper as well. All were amazing singers and will be missed.
Truly the voice of an angel...

Just brilliant!
these guys are ridiculously good
I saw them in Carnegie Hall in the 1980's and still remember the excitement they generated, the incredible sound they created, the joy felt by the audience.
Was lucky enough to see them in Tampa and what a show they put on.Don't make em' like that anymore!!

I miss Marc Connors. RIP, you beautiful voiced bastard.
That was beautiful
Marc had an incredible voice. Miss them.
Saw them in concert when they first started touring ... FANTASTIC SHOW ...
Nylons are the only recording act that I've seen more than twice (4 times in total)
SUCH BEAUTY!!!
I was lucky enough to find their album "One Size Fits All". Then I saw The Nylons live in Sydney and I couldn't believe they could sing like this AND do all the perfect dance steps. Talent like this makes life worth living, surely.
Whoo hoo, my vocal jazz group gets the incredible opportunity to perform with them in December! They're amazing!
I've loved this song since I first bought their CD One Size Fits All back in the 80's. Great talent!!

Hello how are you doing today?
Clapping along is always terrible (unless the performer asks for it), but to do it to an a cappella group seems particularly egregious.
I love The Nylons and I have for years.... so I'm not going to say anything about these outfits. And the dancing.
Pentatonix who?
I love love love The Nylons!!!!

Remind me Kelly McGillis❤i love her

パフォーマンスがダサいのは仕方ない。こういうテイストのグループだもの。そこに不満はない。ライブ版が見れるだけで満足
ich mag die musik und die gruppe
@freedomisrising
So 80s. Circa 1985 Probably.
gefällt mir sehr gut
whoever disliked this video should be strung up by their earlobes until their ears open back up!! obviously they are deaf!!
Hello how are you doing now
I was obsessed with this group in the 80s, I loved everything they did, except the lion sleeps tonight, cuz I just hate that song
Hello how was your day doing today 😊
die sollten weiter machen
Saw them live in the ‘80’s
The current version of The Nylons still sound good. But this is their classic lineup.
I loved you since grade 9 1985
I miss Marc.....................
@theEricWalker Ah, they're nylons (as in stockings). The group's name is The Nylons. . .
What I'm disappointed in is that there's no recording of their great rendering of the Tymes' "So Much In Love", where Arnold took the lead. whats up with the mic condoms?
You don't want them to get pregnant from such sexy singing do you?
SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
@MyMagic111
You and me both.
Much better than the supreme's version
Nop.
Why can't they both be good? They are two different genres of music. Please.
Check the group "Tonic Sol Fa". They have take this mantle up.
anyone else here after watching Made In Heaven (1987)??

I like the 70's supremes version better

ughh
Huh....they only just stole this song from The Supremes. 😐
Tempted to give it a thumbs down, it's not the official music video (if there is one) but I'm not, nice posting.
Hello how are you doing today 😊
I'm sorry, but IMHO the Supremes (post-Diana) do it much better...just one man's opinion.
chad ewing Perhaps but the Supremes aren't a Capella group, there's a big difference!
+chad ewing Nope
Incredible! :-D
