    I believe people that are looking to put a old phone in their home came across your videos and was interested in this device. But they are not looking to pay a separate subscription fee to get it. I know my cable provider offers internet/Wi-Fi calling and there is a phone jack on their router for an additional price. This device would not work unless I pay my provider for that option. (I BELIEVE) There is a device called cell-to jack that allows old phones to use with your cell service using Bluetooth if your cell is in the area of the phone. But that is a one time cost for the device. If you're not a network administrator the common folks are getting lost in the acronyms. PBX, sip service, grand stream, usm etc. I believe the answer is YES, you have to pay a extra subscription to get your old phones/fax/modems to work. That is the sip service. Some people already are paying for it and this device will allow more options like pulse dialing. I am looking to hook up a old phone with out a subscription so, this would not be a option for me. Great videos and I want a BAT PHONE! lol I am running Star Link

    How do you set the thing up? A video on that would be great. Step by step for those of us who are not tech pros.

    What is a SIP Service

    • @califoo
      @califoo 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a signaling protocol used to establish, manage, and terminate multimedia sessions, such as voice calls, video conferences, and instant messaging. It is widely used in telecommunications networks, including VoIP (Voice over IP) and video conferencing systems.

    Hello, I am in the UK, I have a BT Premium Analogue phone/answer machine connected to my Groundstream HT801, phone is working fine, but I still have the telephone/blue light flashing slowly even after a factory reset, can this be cleared and finally an idiots guide to installing the latest firmware version THANKS

    I'm in the UK, have pulse dialling enabled on my HT802, but neither of my BT 700 series phones can pulse dial. Both dials run freely and pass the 'One thousand, One Hundred and One Test' when dialling a '0'. My understanding is that the 802 is configured for the US 40%:60% make break and doesn't tolerate the UK make break of 33.3%:66.6% - without adjustment of the contacts of UK phones. Neither will it ring my phones without ring capacitors being added via a BT microfilter or equivalent. My HT802 ATA was supplied by my fibre internet provider and works flawlessly with our cordless analogue phones. I will report this to my Grandstream supplier and hopefully they can raise a change request with Grandstream to amend their firmware.

      If your HT802 is "locked down" to a UK fibre internet provider you probably can't get into the "admin settings" and unfortunately pulse dialling support is turned off in the ATA by default.
      I can however confirm they work fine with pulse dialling in the UK if this option is enabled in the admin of the ATA

      @@stagetelephone Thanks for reply. I was able to get into settings (all credit to Truespeed). I have enabled pulse dialling, and did contact Grandstream Support who wanted to log the output from my BT phones, which might suggest that they thought it should work too. Unfortunately our router (not a Truespeed one) didn't support the method they wanted to use for the logging, and we were unable to capture anything of use to them and the ticket I raised has now lapsed.

    Would this work for converting our elevator phone from POTS to work on SIP?

      That sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen given these devices aren't very reliable. Sadly, there isn't much better from other companies.

      @@ikkuranus - I understand the problems. We have been told that the POTS lines are going to be cut off soon and the Village and Elevator Inspector have a approved the use of an ATA. The ATA would have its own battery back up and be connected to a power circuit that is on a generator. Only a two story building and one wall of the elevator is glass and a cell phone can work inside the elevator if needed. We are doing all we can to mitigate the issues. I just need to find an ATA with enough power to ring the elevator phone and in general is a trouble free as an ATA can be.

    My Internet provider claims that they can provide me Fax. However, I have to use their equipment. Is DSL Extreme a SIP Service. Is there a listing of SIP Providers? I have an HT102 I just want Regular phone service and a Fax, and own my own equipment.

    How is this different than say the UniFi Analog Telephone Adapter UT-ATA?

    • @WillieHowe
      @WillieHowe  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The HT801 works with 99.99% of all SIP based systems. The UniFi one only works with UniFi Talk and doesn't support pulse dialing.
