Great walk through. Got my car back from insurance repair shop and they’d put mirror back with top lip of outer upright over window rubber. Cowboys. Thanks to this video I can put it right without loosing car for day and see why door panel is squeaking when driving. Something else they’ve messed up no doubt.
Thank you, very informative. Taught me to buy the correct equipment 1st and buy replacement clips before starting. Better to be prepared & have spares than have to locate equipment half way in to the work!
Does anyone out there know how to get to the folding mirror actuator? I have removed the mirror and stripped it down but can't work out how to separate the joint. There is a pin wrench-able surface on the cylinder that is visible but I don't want to tackle it in case I can't get it back together. Any experience welcome 🤠
Thank you for your very detailed video, brilliant... i will be changing mine this weekend, hopefully. How can i get part number without removing my current wing mirror, is it possible?
Hello first of all thank you very much for your Videos, really helpful. Thanks to you I was able to service and repare my Sharan 7N. It seems to me that you have also a video on how to remove the right wing as well, I can't find it anymore. Was it you or someone else? Thank you
Hi. Thanks :) To replace mirror light you'll have to replace whole plastic thing (bottom black bit). I had this question before, but I don't want to make a video, because of the moral side of it - it can be removed without unlocking car. I already had a go at me for publishing videos about mirror glass. I can tell you in steps: remove mirror glass, then frame around it (2 screws, I think and rest plastic catches), then separate plastic catches holding top and bottom mirror covers. Disconnect connector from bottom one and replace whole bottom part. Some of them come with extra convenience light glowing down - that bulb can be replaced.
Don't mix simple facelift and generation. First generation 7M was produced 1995-2010. And second generation 7N from 2010 till present day. It had a facelift (modification) in 2015. Will you call it 4th generation? :) Here's good article explaining that: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Sharan

Thank you so much, my Caddy was slightly different but you inspired me and it's now done. Cheers, you're a good man, very informative.

Very comprehensive. Hopefully a Touran is similar (or even exactly the same) as a Sharan.
Thanks 😊 Sorry, don't know much about Touran, hopefully it's similar.

another very usefull video, I will have to change the whole unit soon, as I unintentionally broke the mirror while folding it )))))))
Thanks :) Hope it helps. You must have big muscles to break mirror just while folding it :)
LOL ))))) with 3 little kids, having muscles in a good shape is not a problem at all )))))
