Watching videos from 5 years ago. Can we have some things other than desserts AGAIN? Don't know your audience now but we are all here. Congrats on the new company. I subscribed. This happens to be my favorite guilty present. All my girls know my soft spot. Mom used to make it too. There are breakfast, lunch, and dinner. "just use my hands" ... The Hash brown egg and veggie cups were genius. I will probably try this (with the wife's help) for my family thanksgiving breakfast! Would love to have more ideas for Christmas or what ever. Breakfast or Brunch ideas. Cute ideas.
I have used this recipe a million times as my children were growing up. I had to tweek it a little to keep me interested in making them. I put peanut butter in with the marshmallows as I was melting it, and made a whole different taste to them. They loved both. I've even sprinkled melted chocolate over the peanut butter ones to make another different taste. All are delicious and never got a veto on any one I made. Thanks for posting Joy. Such a great teacher!
I’ve made these a thousand times, but I still enjoy watching your videos and leaving a like!👌 That’s really nice how you throw in a really simple classic, that anyone can make, but also helpful videos for many other generations of new bakers. :) Take care!!
This is the first thing I learned how to bake and started my love for baking. I always loved how creative you can get with Rice Krispie Treats! I loved mixing in dried fruits and melted chocolate on top. :)
I loved homemade Rice Krispies Treats since I was in preschool, but nobody in my family bothered to teach me how to make it. After watching this video I just did this recipe PERFECTLY in under 10 minutes. Thanks for teaching this former latchkey kid, now adult, how to make an all-time classic after all these years.
Thank you so much for the classic recipe! Brought back memories of my mom making them and just eating the batter before she put it in the pan. I made these two days in a row and added a cup of chocolate chips!
I'm so glad you cut them on this video because that's what I've been struggling with.... I finally figured out that I haven't been letting them cool down before I cut them
There are two people I wish were my neighbors. 🙏 Stephanie Jaworski and Martha Stewart. Oh, and a few of my immediate family members. 🙏 I just 💜LOVE💜 everything about Stephanie's personality. 🥰 Thank you Rick for all your time and dedication in showcasing Stephanie's talents in the kitchen. 👏😘
Years ago (70s?) I realized recipe said 1 bag of large marshmallows or 4 cups miniature. Doesn’t equate. Large marshmallows is more marshmallows in the recipe. FYI. Just made some last night with granddaughter. Timeless goodness. 🐾🐾❤️
One of my best friends and I are bakers who view desserts in a different light. And we prefer to stir the it in a big bowl. We call our dessert Rice Kristine Treats. My best friend named the dessert after her grandmother, Kristine.
This looks so delicious but i do have a question, i just want to make a few rice krispie treats so is it fine if i cut the recipe in half? So instead of 6 cups i put 3 cups, instead of 3 tsp of butter i put 1 and 1/2 tsp.
@@joyofbaking thank you so much! For sure going to make this for my brother tonight, he’s been upset lately and i think its cause he’s worried about moving away for college. Im gonna use fondant to make little one piece themed toppers for the rice krispies, hope this cheers him up and gets him to eat something
I have made these so many times. I put about a tablespoon of vanilla and or use vanilla milk chips or white almond bark (melted into) about 4 ozs per recipe but what i do is not needed to make them good . i just have to change all recipes to make them my own, lol ( not always better) still they taste good. plus i make them thick....almost cube like....
I have made these...yet...I freeze my bowl that mixes marshmallows...and add nuts..any kind...and refrigerate...the pan. Ready in ten mins...fast and yummy👍
Stephanie do the rice krispies stay good longer if stored in the fridge?I just wanna know how long can you keep them in the fridge for? Thanks for sharing this recipe.
An All American Treat! I would like to try them with shredded coconut in them. And I am going to swirl some caramel on top. As soon I get some money, I'm going to try this.
A few ways of making the treats look special without changing the flavor is to put a layer of sprinkles in the bottom of the pan before pressing in the mixture. Or you can even mix them in. You can also press them into small individual molds for a special look. To facilitate unmolding, line the mold with plastic wrap before buttering.
Rice Krispie treats taste great with dried apricot bits, raisin pieces and a few nuts. [I stopped eating margarine soon after it came out when I learned it is so close to plastic in its molecular make up! Use butter or oil. ( Processed cheese is only a few molecules away from plastic BTW). We can't kid ourselves that any of these man-made processed homogenized dairy products are in the least bit healthful.]
I admit, I was taken back when I received this notification that Miss Stephanie posted a recipe for Rice Krispies Treats because they're not at all complicated, they're not baked, and they're extremely common in the U.S.---so much so that they can be bought readymade and packaged in the snack aisles. But...from reading the comments, my impression may be the exception to the rule. I have to remember that not everyone on TH-cam is familiar with Rice Krispies Treats.
This is a good recipe! Thanks for sharing! To the 1% of the people who will see this... A philosopher once said: Believe and you will achieve! (Small TH-camr Here) 😊
Stephanie I agree with you that homemade rice krispies treats are so much better to make at home instead of the box rice krispies treats that tastes like a cardboard box

How much PNB do you add? A 1/2 cup? Thank you.
@@paulinehyder4728 Yes, maybe a little more than 1/2 cup. I just use a spoon and get a big scoop. They are delicious like that.
Your peanut butter recipe was absolutely delicious.
I agree Stephanie, if it ain't broke don't fix it. The original recipe is still the best.
I’ve made these a thousand times, but I still enjoy watching your videos and leaving a like!👌

This is a good recipe to have on-hand and the tip to oil or spray everything is essential. Thanks, Stephanie ☆

Thank you so much! this was the most clear recipe I could find, really quick and easy and helpful too!
I just made these the day after Thanksgiving for my family. My 7year old helped me with cooking them. 💖 Waiting in them to cool! Thank you Stephanie!
Stephanie, I love the little dance you do as you sample the rice crispy treat! Lol!! Great tips and demo, bravo!!!
Thank you so much for the classic recipe! Brought back memories of my mom making them and just eating the batter before she put it in the pan. I made these two days in a row and added a cup of chocolate chips!
I love the crunch... and they are good.... thanks for sharing.

Is it me, or is Stephanie the Bob Ross of baking? :)
Yesss that's who she reminds me of! Lol
😄😄😄😄😄 👍👍👍👍👍 😁😁😁😁😁
Rev Gina Pond awww....that’s so wonderful to say...and I’ll have to agree with you.
She does call it “Joy of Baking”.

Thank you so much for sharing. When I saw your video of these bars right away add in my grocery list marshmallows and cereal 😊
Love this desert kindda treat since my childhood. Thanks for sharing the recipe & made us recall our golden memories related to them.
Thanks for sharing Ms. Stephanie. I don't do gelatin marshmallow so I use the marshmallow fluff. INDEED A CLASSIC FAMILY TREAT 🥰
Thanks! I just made it in a big wok, lol. Worked out and thanks for the spray tip.
My grandson will love this tfs💕
Great presentation! Gotta do with the vanilla too. Nice! Thank you!
I make my Treats with either Rice Krispies or Golden Grahams cereal. Cheerios work well too.

Joy is such a joy!
Very crunchy recipe. So good for children and for adults 😆😛
Bravissima Stephanie 👄👄👄Wish you a nice day😍
I've made this also by dipping the final cut squares in melted chocolate on one side but you are right the original plain recipe is best.
This homemade version tastes so much better than anythin in a box.
Oh my God I made this for the first time there was so good I couldn't stop eating them I got to make more tomorrow thank you so much for your recipe
This was my favourite video! Loved how engaging you were in the video 😘

Iconic recipe growing up and with my kids as well. 🤗
Thank you i 👍 the way you make them.
Great suggestion of adding vanilla extract to the basic recipe. ❤️
These are delicious! I've also used Fruity Pebbles for this recipe, but that was WAY too sweet! As always, thank you for your weekly video!
I make the Fruity pebbles bars for Christmas every year. I have one niece that loves them! I even gave them as a gift to her one Christmas!
Try cutting it with regular rice crispy cereal. Like, 1 part rice crispy cereal and 2 parts fruity pebbles.
Tasty one..... In India We made it with jaggery syrup. Kids love it.
A Mom's Life
What is jaggery syrup? What if we don’t want to use marshmallows?
It takes from sugarcane juice.
Muchas gracias😍😍👍🏻👍🏻 por enseñar👍🏻👍🏻 Rice Krispies😃 (arroz crujiente) excelente 👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks for sharing us such great resepies , i have a question about cake rings , are they good for cacks?

They are called kellogs. Rice bubbles. In Australia
Does anyone know the tool she’s using to stir is called??
Best one yet

I find I can store them for a few days longer in the refrigerator. Or you can freeze them.
@@joyofbaking Thanks for the reply.

My mom use to make these too along with a treat that was made the same way that was made with Cocoa Krispies and peanut butter! Yum to both!
Delicious recipe, I will try it! Thanks .🇻🇪💝
Thank you Joy I made it the same way you did but the ones we buy in boxes are more chewy

Any thing besides marshmallow I can use
I've only made these with marshmallows so I don't know of a substitute.
Hi just been watching you make the rice Christie’s cake you can make them with chelate too. Mary birch
Omg... I have to try them out!! Thank you for sharing
Tip: Be careful when using cooking spray. Inhaling the oil can irritate the lungs. My Mom taught me to either hold my breath or spray out the door.
Alicia Haley I always inhale it because it smells good
I love your videos, been watching since your previous kitchen. But, gotta ask, do you ever get worried youre simply going to run out of recipes??
No there are still lots of recipes to do.
how long did they cook for? omg
Delicious

It is pity there is no "deliver done cookie to viewers" button :) - I would have pressed it every time she makes one of these videos :)
Thank you!
Sorry Stephanie, I'm gonna try Cocoa Krispies!!!!😜
Does the bowl with the rice crispies in it have to be stainless steel or can it be plastic????
It is stainless steel.
These are also great if you substitute Fruity Pebbles for 1/3 to 1/2 of the Rice Krispies!
Rice crispies, In Pakistan it's called murmure.
If you are adding butter to your pot. Why do you spray the pot?
The butter doesn’t cover the sides.
Stephanie I agree with you that homemade rice krispies treats are so much better to make at home instead of the box rice krispies treats that tastes like a cardboard box
I know you have already done this before but i had to watch the whole thing again 😀
Don’t be ashamed of loving the simple things!
I am so going to try this. Thanks! :)
These are the best
How many days you can keep them
They do get softer once they are covered and stored. But they can typically be stored for four to five days.
