  • Why we moved to France had several reasons. In this video we tell all our reasons while in the meantime we make the cupboard in the kitchen more cozy with brocante.
    --------
    In august 2022 our family left everything behind and moved to France - not knowing where we would end up. Finally, after a difficult search, we found our home: a neglected old farmhouse. This is our story after living one year in France.
    Renovating and restoring our old farmhouse, the old barns and the garden and land will take years. But in the end, it's about the journey and not the end destination. After all, you should always have something to dream about. Right?
    Perhaps our life story will also inspire you to pursue your dreams, whatever they may be. Join us on this extraordinary adventure, where dreams become reality, and possibilities are endless.

    What a lovely story of your move to France. Yes, sometimes we dream of things and never follow through then have regrets. I guess during the Pandemic it really brought these subjects out in families that life is short and yes, you only live once so why not. With your decision it worked out brilliantly

    My spouse and I have been married for 46 years. But for most of them we (well mostly me..haha!) had a dream to own property in the country. Finally in 2019 we found our dream property (it looks like it's in France but it's actually right here in the U.S.) We sold our other home in mid February, right before the stupid covid-19 lockdowns were to come in March! As self-employed people, our business too was in danger of falling apart because it involves doing work in homes, schools, churches and other public buildings....all closed. However, God is good and we came through it just fine! We just celebrated the start of 35 years in our business and it continues to grow!
    You are right! Just go out and do it, follow your dreams....even if that dream takes a little longer than initially hoped for. For us it took 42 years before we found our dream home....but have been living happily in it since we finished the renovation of it and the rejuvenation of the 2 acres complete with a vineyard and orchard.
    Hooray for you making your French lifestyle and home a reality! 🥰🥰

      Wow that indeed sounds like a dream home. Living in the countryside is so nice.
      Covid was really an unpleasant period for many people. Happy that things did work out for you with your business after covid. Especially since you guys had the business for years.
      We had it since 2016 but had been self-employed since 2010.
      Have a lovely day today 🥰

    Nice to ear why you decided to come and live in France. Hope it is not too difficult because French is a difficult language to learn (grammar). If you need any help with papers and administration don't hesitate to ask. Really like your decoration,, specially all the deco in the cupboard. Brocante is a magic world in France , there are a lot everywhere near where you live in 47.😊😊😊💯💯💯 You could open your own brocante , you have a good eye.

      Thanks Deborah, it is indeed a difficult language (grammar) our kids speaks it better than us. Thanks for your offer for help with papers and administration, they have a lot here ☺️
      There a indeed a lot of stores here in our surroundings, we have visited a few. In the Netherlands before i had our brocante magazine i had an shop with brocante en flowers. I am a fleuriste of origine. And i have a lots of brocante in our barn. 😅

    Hello, thank you for this interesting video. I live in France and it's a very beautiful country with a lot of positive things, with it's problems though (like everywhere). For example homeschooling has recently been virtually banned, while I think it's a great educational alternative.

    • @petitrevefrance
      @petitrevefrance  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you we live here very much ourselves. And indeed there are problems everywhere. In the Netherlands where we used to live, home schooling is also forbidden. Not that I am suitable for that. So I am glad that the children can go to school. But for many it is certainly not wrong.

    • @thephilman
      @thephilman 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@petitrevefrance Yes it is forbidden in some other countries. I read that in the Netherlands, some parents fight in courts to be allowed to homeschool, pretty much like in France. That said, it seems that the dutch school system is really good, in particular in terms of the kids well-being. Also, France has a large number of homeschoolers who have shown that their kids learned well that way, so it's sad and disappointing for me that the government decided to get rid of that educational model, especially with the poor reasons they evoked.

      The magazines are not for sale anymore in bookshops. But sometimes you can find them on the dutch site marktplaats ( a second hand market place) en perhaps in Germany on ebay. We had a retailer in Germany.
