Great podcast and Excellent information ! I've been blessed, or fortunate, or maybe i simply made it that way with my life decisions, either way I've spent an enormous amount of time in the woods in my 50+ years and the last 10 or 11 minutes of this podcast ( Especially what Mark said ) had me nodding my head in agreement.
Great job on this guys !
I think "blaze away." Could be a good catch phrase, and theres a good story behind it when mark was hunting with hal up in maine and they encountered a big bull moose.
These podcasts are great and full of information! Thanks for all your time.
Good stories and advice fellas!
Thanks guys enjoyed listening keep ‘em coming!!
Great podcast . One of my favorite podcast from big woods bucks is episode 4 where they talk about the guns, ammo, scopes and slings. Be interesting to hear your ideas on it.
enjoying the podcast. thanks for sharing.
Your 270 Bar a Carbine ?
I like a boltaction 308 when im on watch. I like a browning BLR .308 when im stalking or tracking . Id love a pump but there isnt any on the market. I cant believe that the old rem 760, 7600 is the only pump rifle thats used today. Why are no new ones made? Weird
Why not pack in a more efficient stove like couple weeks prior ?
My names on the quilt of thurman as a founder of thurman
Think good topic I always hear about guys getting cut off on a track in Maine by other hunters
So where would be the best place to sit to let all that traffic in the woods hopefully push a Buck into you ???
Get in early Up High ????
VS watching sign post ?
51 with the Back of a 90 year old but Maine and ADK on the list.
Great question, we will try to remember to address this next time we record!
Question - I’ve heard you guys use a word in two podcasts I’ve never heard before and don’t know what it means. Mark was telling about shooting his buck in an area with ravines and water was dripping off trees going down into a “vlie” ? Not sure that’s the correct spelling. What’s a “vlie” ?
“Vly” comes from the Dutch word for “swamp.” Basically a beaver meadow, marsh with grass. The word is a relic of New York being an old Dutch colony of New Netherlands.
@@bigwoodsbucks1 Huh ! Whoda thunk it ? See, you’re teaching stuff you don’t even know your teaching. 👍
Im a old thurman nite
What’s a VLIE? *(spelling)
