'Err on the side of caution ' is new for me😊
Glad you learned something new. Thanks for your comment. 😊
After I watched this video, I second-guessed myself, and did a double take. All this time I've been dragging my feet on my English lessons and cut myself too much slack, and as a result my English is still run-of-the-mill. I'm kind of at my wit's end, until you chimed in and gave me a heads up on how I should one-up myself. My father pulled some strings and foot the bill for my English education, so I should not disappoint him. And I will go to bat for my son too in his language studies.
...
I hope I got them right😅

Thanks so much! I hope you learned some new phrases. 😉
Thank you very mụch❤❤❤❤. When you teach an advanced word or phrases in a sentence, could you please rewrite the sentence in different levels so that we can absorb easily? E.g in advanced, in C, in B, in A, in business English, in daily English...❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed the lesson. I appreciate your comment. 😊
Yes 👍🏻
Thanks for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
This is a great lesson. I like how you teach. Just wanted to point out there is a typo on one-up. No biggie.
Glad you enjoyed the lesson. I appreciate that heads up. That typo is one that gets to me. I may re-upload the video but haven't decided yet. 😊
@@InteractiveEng no worries. You offer great material. Wish I had found you years ago when I was really struggling. Still one never stops learning, so I subscribed.
Is it “on up” or “one up”? Thanks for a useful lesson! 😀
It is one-up. That was a typo. 😊
I love your videos, please don't cut me any slack...
I appreciate it. Thanks for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
It's all very cool but if just learn like such expressions and idioms in such number in one time it's unreal for almost buddy I think it's better reading more and stressed such cases gradually cuz if make watching movies and take such expressions out there it's very long and inconvenient way I think.Of course everyone choose by himself what to do. Thank you
Glad to hear that! Thanks for your comment. 😊
Could you please share how do you find scenes from movies with the certain expressions?
I use a site called YARN. www.getyarn.io/ Thanks for commenting & checking out the lesson. 😊

One - up is the most suitable expression I can use for my cousins 😂
Thanks for commenting & sharing. 😊
Which one is correct? I appreciate he / him / his taking the responsibility.
🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for checking out the lesson. Glad it was helpful. 😊
You need to change on-up to one-up at the introductory part of this expression.
Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, I can't change it. However, I may take the video down and re-upload it. 👍
Please pull some strings Wes. I'm at my wit's end.

🎯My wife's father owns a lakeside cabin in Michigan.
🎯My wife's father owns a lakeside cabin out in Michigan.
❓Does adding 'out' change the meaning of the sentence??
No, it doesn't really change the meaning. But it's always good to be more concise and eliminate unnecessary words. I'd go with the first sentence. 😊
@@InteractiveEng
It was a dictionary entry sentence. It made me confused. Thank you for the quick reply.👍

Thanks for your comment. Keep it up! 🤗 💪
9:48 It's "to one-up sb." and not "to on-up sb." The letter e is missing.
Thanks for the heads up. 👍
2:12 You must have some interesting people following you. These phrases are from around 3rd grade.
What does "foot (someone) the bill" mean? Does it mean to make someone else pay for something?
In this case, it means someone is going to make someone else pay for something. (e.g. The city is going to foot you with the bill. -- the city will make you pay for something). 👍
If I am dragging my feet, then asking me stop dragging my feet makes the situation worse. Isn’t it?
That's a possibility. It depends on how frustrated you are. 😅
Hurry up, do not drag your feet.
Will do. Thanks for checking out the lesson. 👍
@@InteractiveEng I will go on it for the sake of myself.
The pronunciation of both words 'err' and 'air' are utterly the same. It would be plausible for GT to err in hearing 'err' as 'air'. So in the caption/transcription system of this video, the word 'air' should be (replaced)interpreted 'err'.
C u next time
Sounds good. Thanks for commenting & checking out the lesson. 👍
