  • Here are some clever things I learned about dog training when my Goldendoodle Sophie was still a puppy.
They are the dog training fundamentals of the way I train her and the way I communicate with her.
They take into account the way the canine brain ticks and helps us develop a shared understanding.
In this video I cover 5 great things to know which will help you with dog training… whether you have a Goldendoodle puppy, a doodle or any other breed.
Best of luck with your Goldendoodle puppy training. These puppy training tips will also apply to training adult dogs to gain better communication.
    All the best,
    Joanna (& Sophie)
PS She looks HUGE on the thumbnail photo, but I didn't enlarge her size in this photo of her and I. That long coat sure makes a medium-sized goldendoodle dog look enormous... that, and something about the camera angle I guess! Yes, it's still Sophie.

Love the braids you have done on Sophie! Cheers for the tips such as hand signals. We gotta incorporate those more, since we've mainly been relying on just words

I have been working on the pointing for my 6-month old goldendoodle, but he has a bit to go yet hehe
Something I think has helped a lot in terms of body language and hand signals is to achieve eye contact with the dog. And I trained this early on during food time. He didn't get food until he gave me a convincing eye contact :D

Lovely to hear from you Gondwana. Agree, that establishing eye contact is another gem to incorporate into training, and something I do also. I hope all's going really well with your beautiful pup x

My golden doodle,is a train wreck. Every time I come home something is chewed up.

Sorry to hear that Edwin. Perhaps it's due to anxiety, not enough exercise or perhaps he is still young and teething (though having something appropriate to chew is great for dogs of all ages). All the best and thank you for watching.
