    When you demonstrate each of the mask wipe transitions - it would have made much more sense to have actually placed in an incoming clip so that we could see the full effect instead of just black where the incoming clip would go

      @@Brad_West Is it hard to do? Does it have to be me created in Motion?

    • @Brad_West
      @Brad_West  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Silverhorse32 It depends how complex you want the movement to be. You could use the position and scale parameters to keyframe the clip off screen directly in FCP, but if you want the first clip to do anything special like bend/fold or anything like that then Motion is probably a better option. Do you have a reference you can share for the type of flyaway you are referring to?

    Another Outstanding Tutorial - Question: The Bike Rider Clip Is A Single Clip, How Did You Add In The Gal Walking Behind The Cyclist - After You Applied The Mask And Checked It, Every Thing Was Black Behind The Cyclist - Another Question: When You Short Cut 'M' Marker, Does That Also Add The Ket Frame? I Sort Of Am Confused On The Key Frame Front - Again, Dig The Video And Appreciate Your Videos - Be Well

    • @Brad_West
      @Brad_West  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching Travis 😊
      When you’ve created a mask, the black part is an alpha channel which means that anything you put underneath that clip will show through. So all I did was put that clip of Donna below the bicycle clip and when the bicycle moves across the screen, the mask reveals that clip.
      When you create a marker, it does not set a key frame. It’s more of a visual reference to see when the mask starts and ends. By doing this you can easily see when the black alpha channel will be revealed. I also snap the new clip I’m revealing to that marker.
      I hope that explanation helps. If you have any more questions, let me know 😊👊🏼
