- Sending screenshots to your discord friends can be a bit boring. Having the basic screenshot without any fancy effects added to it is now out of style due to tons of gamers now using ShareX. ShareX allows you to do a whole bunch of stuff but the focus of this video is to make screenshots look better with its after screenshot effects feature.
You can select from a whole bunch of presets or you can spend a bit of time and make something of your own. A flexible and basic effect editor will make you have unique screenshots in no time.
ALSO FOR THE TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND THING I WAS TALKING ABOUT, YOU CAN DO ONE OF THREE THINGS (Thanks Jaex from ShareX)

I've been using this program for a year and it's SO useful. Especially because it has utilities like arrows and highlights (Especially when trying to TEACH a TEACHER on how to screenshare). Blur and pixelate has made my life easier

@@arpitgourav5257 Well first of all go to Task Settings, click on Effects>Image effects configuration. Create a new preset and then add the rounded corners effect.

If you are a Linux user, the KDE screenshot utility also lets you capture a Window kinda like this.
But it's pretty basic outside that if you want more features use Flameshot
what do you think about kshare? it auto uploads to imgur

for anybody wondering if there's an easier way to get transparent pictures to work by pasting from the clipboard, all you have to do is click Application Settings on the main window, go to the Advanced tab, and withing the Clipboard dropdown, change both "UseAlternativeClipboardCopyImage" and "UseAlternativeClipboardGetImage" to True (they should be, by default, False). this way, if you take a screenshot and have the "Copy image to clipboard" After Capture Task, once you paste the image onto Discord, the transparent background will work and it won't be a white color.
if for whatever reason you changed the image format under Task Settings > Image, as in what file extension a screenshot saves in, then make sure you change this to png. dw tho, by default the app already saves screenshots in .png format so if you havent tinkered with any major settings then following the steps above will work for you.

I used to use lightshot it was easy and simple and works fine and also has some useful options and most one I have been using is copy image so I just paste it instantly into chat easily without saving image and then uploading it also ty for the app gonna download it.

I was checking my ShareX theme and I saw that the Nord Theme can also be applied to the application. So a little fun fact I guess
Have been using sharex for a few years now, and I honestly never knew themes was a thing lmao. Just used it so it would autmatically save the image files instead of just copying it to the clipboard

I personally use lightshot, its not as customizable, but it has a free unlimited file host and its a bit simpler
Imgur is a free unlimited hoster as well you can configure it in sharex.
Lightshot directs you to an ugly page with ads don't like it.
Btw you can use lightshot hoster inside of sharex lol

Share X on Steam have a little Glitch with Discord. When you're playing a game and it shows "Playing *something*", if you open Share X or press the screenshot button, that thing will disappear. And when you come back in the game, it will appear again but will reset the hours (showing: Just started playing). Also another glitch it happens with Discord, is when you close the game it still shows "Playing *something*" even though you already closed the game. It's a pain for me and l don't know how to fix it (except for the last one). l guess it will be better to download Share X from the oficial site to avoid those annoying things.

another fix to remove the white border, go on after capture tasks, untick copy image to clipboard and tick copy file to clip board, that removes it

I use lightshot sharex is cool but lightshot is too simple and clean and thats how i like it .
Does lightshot allow you to have fancy dancy borders or is it just better screenshot functions

flameshot is a great alternative overall. I just bound it to my printscreen key and it works like a charm !

Hey mate so I have a problem, it always says failed to register a hotkey using Prt sc as i am using a laptop. Any fix for that please? I can't even use Win Key + Shift + S it just shows the busy circle next to my pointer and never do anything. If there is a fix please let me know

The video is a bit old and some stuff might not work so I would make sure you follow the steps in creating a restore point.

I do no post processing so I guess it might just be the logo of ShareX and the desaturated background that might make colors pop.
