I feel sorry for track announcer Jason beem I feel his frustration a bit I saw it on the capital district otb tv network in the Albany NY area during racing across America so I wanted to see for myself here on you tube

It’s was a power outage over at Grants Pass, Oregon! It’s just like that one time there was a series of TH-cam videos that shows NASCAR races when power blew out while men were racing there race cars!

It would be great to get an update on the jockeys' conditions ASAP. I found nothing on Google news or their Twitters.

Yeah I can't imagine Grants wants to make a big deal about it... Sheesh.

Both ended up with broken ribs and one has something broken in their foot but both were released as far as I know, I work the track and it was definitely a scary experience

I’m glad the track announcer said, “guys pull up the horses.” They’d never known to do that!

Jason Beem is the best kept secret track announcer-wise

I mean a few clearly weren't making much of an effort to pull them up...

If some of these guys didn't have agents they'd get lost on their way to the track everyday. You don't have to be smart to be a jockey.

Figures there were still jockeys trying to ride the race out in the dark for a 7500$ purse...

Well we can't all be running for the big bucks, someone's gotta make a living off the bushes. $7500 is a lot of money for your average horseman running in the bush circuit, on the West coast, in Oregon.

Pardon the pun, but that's not something you usually See at the races 😉

Yes, the race was declared a "no contest" and all wagers were refunded, and it was an "all" for any multi-race wagers.

Announcer waited to long to say " pull up the horses".he stayed silent until horses crossed line.Of course jockeys could've figured it out on their own!

@@almell3994 Right! A couple of jockeys were hurt being thrown from their mounts! I'm sure with the combination of sudden darkness and trying to pull up horses in full flight on the part of the track that they're not accustomed to being pulled up things got chaotic quickly ! Hopefully everyone will be back with minimal setback! That could've been a lot worse! I read were they think the lights were on a timer and weren't adjusted for daylight savings time?
