I will never forget when she came to my church in Indianapolis. Word of Life…and I was very young in the Lord, and very broken. She carried the weighty o presence of God…and He filled the hall with His glory, when this small framed little woman, sang the music of Heaven. There was healing, and it flowed from her. This mighty Psalmist…to our King
My dad (Lance Landry) toured all over the country with Janny, and she was a Beacon of God's Light to so many people. Praise God that she is now resting safely in the arms of God in heaven. This song has always been one of my very favorites and is so touching to so many people. I wish I could get in touch with the people who own the rights to this song so that I could do a new modern worship version of this for my church in Franklin, Indiana. PRAISE GOD 👏 Thank you, Holy Father, for Janny and all the others like her that you've placed in this world to deliver your message of hope, love, and mercy.

Janny still speaks to us through her music and her children and grandchildren. It’s so amazing to know this world has hope when listening to her. Janny I love you and thank you instilling your love into your son which whom makes my sister and my nieces the happiest and most blessed . Janny was our worship guest at our Church’s Creative Arts Retreat at Alhatti Resort in The San Bernardino Mountains. When she sang this song , you could feel Gods tangible presence so strong . We all like danced / swayed to the music of it . Janny was kind , encouraging and friendly .

Incredible inspiration by her music that reaches to this day. How often I taped her name in but didn't find her, now finally it succeeded! Thank you so much!
There is something irresistible about this music. I played it for hours today as I worked. Most believers in Jesus have a homesick yearning to experience heaven's peace and beauty, and this sure delivers it to me.

I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and speak with Janny back in 1993. We went to the revival at Carpenter's Home Church in Lakeland, Florida when Rodney Howard-Browne was there. While here on earth she loved The Lord Jesus and her desire to walk in His Precious Holy Spirit was inspirational. I look forward to reuniting with her and all the saints who have gone before when I make that journey.
I still have Janny's vinyl albums from the 1970's. My daughter's grew up listening to her everyday and I still play them despite the scratches. Glad to find her music here to encourage me onward in these daunting days

It is difficult when you have to deal with the consequences of people in your life who are so in bondage to substance abuse. This song gives me hope today, it renews my strength to continue believing, forbearing and loving.
Of all Janny's songs, this is my absolute favorite, and I so appreciate your uploading it. I began listening to her in the 70's (yep, I'm gettin' up there...lol), then got to meet her in the 90's. It was my very first encounter with the Spirit world and showed me just how real Jesus was. I first heard this song when watching an early promo video for Mercy Ships while I served with Youth With A Mission. That video touched my heart to such an extent that I have never forgotten it 35 years later. It’s the heart of God reaching down to heal a broken world… a world that He loves with a powerful undying love. If I could view that original Mercy Ships video video, it would be absolutely awesome.
I went to a smaller concert of hers with a friend, maybe around 91?) at a church called New Covenant Ministries. I was sitting in my chair and as she began to sing this song, I felt such a presence of God in a way that is very difficult to put into words, like a very tender a anointing, and I began to just lean over my lap, and just weep and weep for what seemed like awhile... I had sexual abuse from a young age, and from other situations as I got older also, it was like alot of the sadness was pouring out of me, and it was directly related to a special anointing on that song.....
I was there at that concert as well. Good memories from that church/radio ministry. There were periods of ministry that were incredible during that time.

My husband and I loved this song, when we got married in 90, and listened to it, bought it several times, when it got lost or broken, and then my husband passed, not too long after Janny in in 2012 and my heart broke. I have been trying to find this song since then and couldn't, thank you for helping. My heart is still there, by God's grace. but it still feels broken, but I trust In Our Lord He knows what He's doing. thanks, again
If you are struggling, remember there are only two ways to get close to Him, His word and His ear. So read the book. How can you expect anything if you don't read the book. It's His breath and it will lift you up.
It's described when God gives you his ear of a father literally bending down like on his knee, and getting close to his child listening. There's nothing more beautiful and reassuring than that.
This is one of the many songs that causes me to reminisce those special times I had in the Lord in the past. I went to "To The Praise Of His Glory" New Testament Church in Cornelius, North Carolina and had the pleasure of meeting Janny. Her music is truly anointed.
I knew Janny and Bill when she wrote this song. She was very hurt by some elements in the church in the 80s that wouldn't accept her ministry. Shame on them. Jesus healed her hurt and she is singing for Him now.

It seems like I do remember using her acoustic guitar for a lot of the background solo work. Specifically on that section, sorry I can't answer that it's been a long time.
I saw her in concert at a little dang Church when I was like 10. This jam is a tasty treat underrated and not relevant in the christian market today because it's actually good.

+Mark Johnson This version was on one of the first cuts of the Stronger Than Before Album. I have two of those albums and noticed on the later cut she used the shorter version. I'm glad to have this longer version as it's my favorite. I don't think you can get it unless you have one of the first CDs of STB.
And yes, even with the bad theology, it's Christ and him crucified only matters in the long run. Some folks will chase their tails for many years before they come to realize there are truths in Scripture. It takes a while to realize the dots aren't connecting and then they start to seek deeper.
When I would hear that "health and wealth" teaching I'd think about the apostles. (My background before being born again was Catholic.) I'd think about how the apostles were homeless, no money, persecuted, driven out, imprisoned and ultimately beheaded or martyred. I figured if it was about "health and wealth" they'd have lived better lives and Paul wouldn't have had a vision problem. That teaching just didn't stand up to the apostles experience who were closer to Jesus than us.....not to mention the godly missionaries that were great in our past and present who embraced an unimaginable amount of suffering. I am amazed that theology still has a following.
Well said! Much scripture was devoted to heading off and correcting heretical teachers and poisonous heresy. Nothing has changed. I know I fell for it hook line and sinker until the Lord worked out my circumstances so that I would be separated from the heretics and surrounded by solid, biblical teachers. They taught me how to interpret scripture and let scripture interpret scripture. After 35 years I'm still learning, but.....being on the right track has a peace and a confidence that was missing when following false teachers. Yes, Janny was a wonderful singer and a songwriter. She prophesied right after the Stronger Than Before song was cut and marketed that the Lord told her it would be a #1hit......did it in front of a big crowd of Word of Faith people. I tucked that information away and when it never happened I realized it was one of the seeds that started me questioning all of the false rhetoric that I heard and was hearing on a regular basis. God is so thorough in how he deals with us. It's always a process and always circles back to Him.
J Craig, Amen about His thoroughness! God guides the sincere heart truly seeking the truth about scripture and puts in their path what's necessary to mature them into wisdom. He is the author and finisher of our faith, indeed! God bless you, brother, you've had quite the journey and I've enjoyed hearing about it.
I enjoyed recording this album with Janny. Then the tours in Poland and Nigeria with Concert Crucades. Since then I have come to learn that much of Bill and Janny's theology was wrong. Primarily that "God want's us all to be wealthy and rich, and physical healing is a God given right and absolute". Sadly, Bill and Janny died before old age, of physical ailments. My hope is that believers won't be "awed" by Christian performers, musicians and preachers, and accept bad theology, but rather be led to truth by the scriptures. Test the spirit, seek wisdom and don't blindly follow false prophets. Most in the church are blinded by personalities, much like the world. God speed to you all.
J Craig: You are correct. I often wondered if Janny ever questioned Copeland's theology after Bill's stroke or during her cancer. I thought seriously about not posting the songs that reflect that theology and decided against it, except for one. I just couldn't bring myself to upload that one......as sickness clearly dwelled in both of them. But, thank God their theology isn't a deal breaker for salvation. The danger of it is on earth as it can leave one thinking they must not be "doing it right" or they'd be rich and healthy. This can lead to despair by sincere, devoted Christians thinking they're spiritual failures for having not "attained" it.
I met Janny at John's church in the 70s. I remember Kenneth Hagin being the father of that movement and Copeland was a fan of him. I recall a Charles Capp there, too. John would have them come to the church to teach that theology. Didn't make sense when I heard it the first time. Still, I loved Janny's voice.

I figured if it was about "health and wealth" they'd have lived better lives and Paul wouldn't have had a vision problem. That teaching just didn't stand up to the apostles experience who were closer to Jesus than us.....not to mention the godly missionaries that were great in our past and present who embraced an unimaginable amount of suffering. I am amazed that theology still has a following.
Well said! Much scripture was devoted to heading off and correcting heretical teachers and poisonous heresy. Nothing has changed. I know I fell for it hook line and sinker until the Lord worked out my circumstances so that I would be separated from the heretics and surrounded by solid, biblical teachers. They taught me how to interpret scripture and let scripture interpret scripture. After 35 years I'm still learning, but.....being on the right track has a peace and a confidence that was missing when following false teachers.
Yes, Janny was a wonderful singer and a songwriter. She prophesied right after the Stronger Than Before song was cut and marketed that the Lord told her it would be a #1hit......did it in front of a big crowd of Word of Faith people. I tucked that information away and when it never happened I realized it was one of the seeds that started me questioning all of the false rhetoric that I heard and was hearing on a regular basis. God is so thorough in how he deals with us. It's always a process and always circles back to Him.
J Craig, Amen about His thoroughness! God guides the sincere heart truly seeking the truth about scripture and puts in their path what's necessary to mature them into wisdom. He is the author and finisher of our faith, indeed! God bless you, brother, you've had quite the journey and I've enjoyed hearing about it.

I enjoyed recording this album with Janny. Then the tours in Poland and Nigeria with Concert Crucades. Since then I have come to learn that much of Bill and Janny's theology was wrong. Primarily that "God want's us all to be wealthy and rich, and physical healing is a God given right and absolute".
Sadly, Bill and Janny died before old age, of physical ailments. My hope is that believers won't be "awed" by Christian performers, musicians and preachers, and accept bad theology, but rather be led to truth by the scriptures. Test the spirit, seek wisdom and don't blindly follow false prophets. Most in the church are blinded by personalities, much like the world. God speed to you all.

I often wondered if Janny ever questioned Copeland's theology after Bill's stroke or during her cancer. I thought seriously about not posting the songs that reflect that theology and decided against it, except for one. I just couldn't bring myself to upload that one......as sickness clearly dwelled in both of them. But, thank God their theology isn't a deal breaker for salvation. The danger of it is on earth as it can leave one thinking they must not be "doing it right" or they'd be rich and healthy. This can lead to despair by sincere, devoted Christians thinking they're spiritual failures for having not "attained" it.

Sandy, yes Copeland was one false teacher. But in the beginning Joel Olsteens father John was their mentor.
I met Janny at John's church in the 70s. I remember Kenneth Hagin being the father of that movement and Copeland was a fan of him. I recall a Charles Capp there, too. John would have them come to the church to teach that theology. Didn't make sense when I heard it the first time. Still, I loved Janny's voice.
