@angmel3838 I’m sorry but these people don’t look at their way of life as harsh. It’s a normal every day thing for them. It may be a culture shock for you but for them it’s how they live and you could see they are quite content and happy.

I think a lot of people would think north american or European ways of life are harsh. Capitalism only makes the rich more rich while the rest work more than people in Africa without any connections or happiness from their work.

Yes, maybe Felista can set up an oil extraction business for her family then the folks in her area don’t have to travel 50km to extract cooking oil from seeds.

Anna from Kenya. I am happy the way our neighbour Tanzania is ahead in terms of Agriculture. My China friends are very happy and exploring Tanzania like toddler boys. They are happy with everything they see and experience and mingle well with Africans. They show us that there is no difference between Africans and Chinese and even accept our food. God bless them and may they have good health and also travel safely back. My dear sister, thank you and your family for hosting guests well on our behalf. Oh l wish people from developed countries appreciate us like the way our brothers from China have done and carry good memories with them.

First time I see sunflower seeds press into oil. I usually buy roasted/ salted sunflower seeds and eat like snacks. A 50km ride on a motorbike, that’s very far. I guess that’s a tired ride. Anyway thanks Lao li for sharing. Take care and enjoy your time in Tanzania.

These people are living very healthy and in a very organic circle, they extract their own oil, digging potatoes, milking their own cows, got lots of ducks and chicken around, eating their own herds, pumping water from their well, eating rice from their farms, taking vegetables from their backyard gardens these are privileges to me.

They press groundnuts too for butter and cooking oil, Tanzania is very fertile land and the people are hardworking and self sufficient in almost every food crop
I think, cold press which does not destroy the goodness of this oíl.

i love Fei li's people. They work hard and live off the land. Even build their houses from the land. It's a simple way to live but rewarding at the same time. I don't think of their life as harsh because they've live this way for centuries. With our new world though, I can imagine they want to experience a different place.

Such an exhausting and tiring journey . Poor Lao Li and friend. I could not help feeling pitiful and amused😅 at the same time. How fortunate that I could just run into a shop , grab and buy a container of oil, that easy. There is so much yet to develop in Tanzania or most parts of Africa. I am happy to see the owner of the little oil processing factory standing tall , expressing pride of his ability and the opportunity to own and manage a business and being useful and needed in the community. His enthusiasm deserves acknowledgment 😊. It must be challenging for Felista parents as hosts to ensure the “guests” are well fed and well cared for in this trip. It is surely worth the time and sacrifice esp for Felista and her family. 🌻🌻
Please let me collect you, the shops have the cooking oil but Feli's family prefer to use pure oil so they have farmed sunflower in their farms. That's why Feli's grandma of 110 years looks so young & healthy. Unprocessed without preservetives

Impossible to read and look at the moving picture at the same time. 😅 ! Glad they still have a choice if they need a can of oil quickly. I don’t know about how oil is processed commercially in Tanzania but in my country, it is safe and healthy to consume. I think total lifestyle is an indication of longevity. It is quite impossible for city dwellers esp in developing countries with daily life pressure, traffic jams, pollution, poor economy , unstable government, poor policies, high expenses etc. However , thanks for your explanation
Watch out for the oil that u buy in the stores. Oxidized by the processing machines. It is all poison u are consuming
Those who were saying feli suffers in china coz of working all day, do u see Africas suffering? Are they equal? Definately not! A village in china is more developed than in Africa. Starting from the road itself not to mention other facilities and infrastructure.
Not to mention running water where felista lives in China, chicken coup, plenty of farm food and a very huge kitchen where she cooks.
But apart from the bad roads her family has everything they need for basic needs

I'm Tanzanian reading comments what I can tell is you don't get enough about Tanzania .Phil's come from a tribe called sukuma which is the biggest tribe in Tanzania in terms of population and because of the culture and sukuma tradition women are required to be royal and respect their husbands and other people.Area around their village is one of the richest in Tanzania in terms of minerals especially gold and one of the biggest mining company GGM supposed to pay 300b USD as royallity to the Tanzania government owed for years

Wow thats a lot of weight lost due to being so physically active and eating right. No wonder Felista and her family are so lean. Here in the West we just sit and eat which is very unhealthy
I lost 6 inches in my waist from running up 5 flights of stairs daily at 117mottstreet but then the new landlord locked me out and I started feeling pins and needles and cheese grater pain and I had no idea why and it turned out to be diabetes and neuropathy. I'm ruined.
