A client of the architects practice I worked at in the late 2000's had a Veyron with the number plate B1!!!!! ( I felt the plate was worth more than the car)the car was so small but beautiful. In the late 70's I worked at Sir Alfred McAlpine on the Wirral and Jimmy McAlpine used to turn up at the office in his black Bugatti, All I remember was it was very rare and had a straight 8 engine that could beat his Jensen up to a 100mph. it sounded like tearing calico, it was glorious.

Heck, I'd give my left grape for that Bugatti bench vise alone! Great tour. Please arrange a video of a drive of a T35. Such an iconic car. I was lucky enough to tour the Williamson collection before it was broken up. His T35 had custom made wooden grids on the floor so your feet weren't resting in leaked gear oil!

I think that mistrial is finally a good car. None of the ones before it caught my eye. You know what is a DuPont registry magazine, right? Its an elaborate ad magazine. I bought the one with mistrial just for those pics.
Great video. One of my school teachers had a couple of vintage Bugattis and one time I was at his place there was also Royale there, which his mechanic was doing some work on. I've never managed to work out which of the six it was, but it left a big impression on me.
Of course I would've gone straight to the Type 41, but then all of our tastes & preferences differ. The most incredible thing is that the Types, 35, 41 & 57 have stood the test of time.
Hi Jodie . By chance l was at a local show in Teignmouth a few weeks ago and there was a replica on show which looked rather too good . ( there actually was a replica ! ) A closer look convinced me it was real! A voice behind me said 'l'll open the bonnet " .....my goodness ! It is mechanical art and perfection . I think the owner said it was a Type 37 1500cc 4 cylinder . I made a "monogram" 1/24 scale Type 35 as a boy 55+ years ago and efen back then thought what a beautiful car ! As an incidental , Triumph used the name Vitesse in 1935 ! As always Jodie , guaranteed exclusives and entertainment from "Kidd in a Sweeetshop" Thanks Jodie .
I happened to see an old episode of Top Gear recently that was obviously some time before the release of the Veyron - Clarkson was scoffing at the idea that Bugatti were tasked by VW to develop a 1000hp road car. I guess that just goes to show how truly ground breaking that car was on its release as at that time, the very concept was simply absurd... but they did it.
I disagree with the comment of Bugatti breaking every record as a certain manufacturer that's a thorn in the side of Bugatti named Koenigsegg break every record set by Bugatti and sooner or later Koenigsegg will take the record of fastest production car yet again with the Jesko Absolut.
