i'm bipolar and have had manic episodes before, i can't tell you how grateful i am that i have friends/family who notice the mania right away and take me to the hospital before it gets out of hand. just listening to yousef talk in this video is so frustrating because it's full blown mania and i can't believe someone in his life hasn't tried to get him help yet. the problem with ignoring a manic episode is that it'll get more and more intense until he crashes with the worst depression ever. medication is the better route. this guy thinks it's an accomplishment to be off meds but in reality, being on them is safer. this isn't like when a person with depression gets well enough to go off anti depressants. when a person like myself experiences manic episodes as serious as yousef does, medication is absolutely needed.

I had one episode (I won't repeat what I wrote above) - all of the evidence, textbook and from experience, clearly shows the words and actions of a person experiencing mania. It will probably turn out to be a successful event, and be very positive for his career...that's the sad thing, the outcome can be good but then you have reality waiting in the shadows to rip you from the crazy accomplishments of a manic mind. He needs to be on a 3rd gen medication like Olanzipine.

The Big Baller it isn't narcissism, it's a manic episode. mania is really dangerous and one of the side effects is feeling so confident to the point where you believe nothing can hurt you and nothing is impossible. i don't like the guy but i want him to get help
i'm bipolar and have had manic episodes before, i can't tell you how grateful i am that i have friends/family who notice the mania right away and take me to the hospital before it gets out of hand. just listening to yousef talk in this video is so frustrating because it's full blown mania and i can't believe someone in his life hasn't tried to get him help yet. the problem with ignoring a manic episode is that it'll get more and more intense until he crashes with the worst depression ever. medication is the better route. this guy thinks it's an accomplishment to be off meds but in reality, being on them is safer. this isn't like when a person with depression gets well enough to go off anti depressants. when a person like myself experiences manic episodes as serious as yousef does, medication is absolutely needed.

When those that have undiagnosed bipolar go into a manic disorder often times those around them don't understand and think they are becoming egotistical or whatever it may be and end up cutting them off instead of getting them help.
