CAEC64 I know that. In this video, we see spike balls that don’t follow that behavior. That’s way I pointed it out. It’s a bit unnerving having something work the way you want it to when it hasn’t for so long.
The only thing i think that could've made this better would be if there was an easy way to program in new bosses Either way though, this was really awesome
World 2-Castle aka Roy’s Castle: 3:40 This castle level begins with a giant spiked ball destroying the stairway of bricks in the mid-air then falls into a bottomless pit. (Reach the desert area.) Inside Roy’s castle, the spiked balls appear to roll onto players to take away their own power-ups. Reach the yellow door after a spiked ball that leads Mario and others outside to the desert. (Find the hidden boss door!) Outside of Roy’s castle at the desert has a checkpoint flag, There are Bullet Bills shooting out of the blasters and more spiked balls everywhere. Mario has to reach the orange switch to lower the ground and reveal the hidden boss door where Roy Koopa appears in the room with five giant warp pipes protruding on the celling. STAR COIN LOCATIONS: Star Coin 1: Use wall jumps to reach the location where the spiked balls are to get the first star coin accessed by a small crevice inside the castle. Star Coin 2: Jump on a Bullet Bill outside the castle at the desert area to reach the second star coin. Star Coin 3: Enter the small crevice in your Mini form to get the third star coin between the two item blocks outside at the desert area where two of the rolling spiked balls appear.
Oh yeah, I remember. Roy was my favorite boss from New Super Mario Bros ds! Just kidding. This recreation was really nice. Nice job, especially with the desert chunk. Your creative choices there really worked well. Thanks for sharing, Mayro. :)
Maryo on yesterday's stream : What's my least favourite NSMB title? Me : says NSMBDS and got one of my SMM2 levels played because I guessed the answer. And today‚ Mayro uploads a video of porting a level from NSMBDS to NSMBW. Hmmmmm...
personally I think DS is my favorite. The Koopalings were cool coming back in Wii, but then they kept reusing them, and again, and again, while NSMBDS has unique bosses that aren't all variations of the same group of characters. Also Dry Bowser was a fun concept, though I feel like he was flanderized afterward being thrown around separate from Bowser despite NSMB establishing Dry Bowser was Bowser as a skeleton.
this is my fav level in NSMB and i always wanted 2 c what it would look like in NSMBW i wish nintendo and the feature when u hit the switch the slope appears then disappears and if they made is so u could add castle smoke in any backrounds
You should've just made the boss room have one singular pokey in it and softlock. Also slightly disappointed there wasn't a secret mini mushroom exit, but how could you really do that in Wii I guess. Overall pretty good job, :)
I think I remember seeing a custom Mario kart track here a while ago... Would it be possible to make a custom "dark star core" race track in Mario kart Wii? It could be like a hardcore rainbow road, no barriers for the most part, crazy stunts, there could be a part where you have to drive on the arms of a giant dark fawful (like the attack in game where he sticks his hands into the ground) and a dark tower section with a rate turned dark bowser version of the stone bowser statue. I'd make this, but the software doesn't seem to work on my computer, but I think it would be really cool. Also, the background could be the dark hurricane, and I think you already know what music to use.
Hey mayro I bet you have already done this or at least tried it but I think we can agree new super Mario Bros Wii 1-1 is very unique (I blame the rolling hills) So I was wondering if it would be possible to make it in Mario maker. The conveyors could work as rolling hills (even if it looks ugly)
Kinda not sorry to say this but i’m going off with what nathaniel bandy said, and personally my opinion as well. You can’t go wrong with the original castle theme from nsmbds. Even if it’s not actually nsmb ds.
Hello it is .7:30 here in NY And with all of this crap of "you can't go outside if not then the police will arrest you", there will be more comments coming in
I’m so used to seeing spike balls explode once they crash into a wall in Mario Maker.
You have a short memory because this is a feature from few months ago.

This has always been one of my favorite levels from NSMBDS. I think it has to do with it going outside and just the fun obstacles.
I like how you solved the switch/slope problem
Now THIS is how Mario Maker should look like.
Nah it sucks, Mario Maker has better controls/UI/playability ofc
@@UltraAryan10 I mean it could keep the easy tiling and touch controls, but things like wider levels, actors and layers could help a lot
That's too complicated
P. Nats A Layer 0 would be very cool as they exist in normal Mario levels but not in Mario Maker
But that's just the thing, Mario Maker was made to be a game, not a tool
Which sucks sometimes
Oh yeee I loved this stage so much.

someone find a mistake in the tiling :edit holy heck I’ve never got this many likes on a comment thx y’all
tiling mistakes with mayro? no way!

One of the brick blocks isn't destroyed by the spike ball when it should be.
@@alexstewart9592 just a mistake with the engine not the tiling
@@sefayildirim3775 It is a tiling error, the brick block isn't layered correctly.

this one is better than the one newer made for nsmb legacy great job mayro
3:40 you're welcome :)
Dont say you're welcome I liked the timelapse
Tile God usage was genius I'd love to see you tackle more of the DS levels
Very Cool! Reminds me a lot of my smm2 remake of 2-castle! You did a great job with tiling and physics planning! Keep up the good work!
I don't know why, but I really like watching people create levels themselves, so this was a really nice surprise!
Mayro sure loves Mario bros wii
Hell yeah go Mayro make this cursed level i could never finish
this castle is so iconic! nice work
Roy instead of Larry
0/10
In all honesty though amazing job! Glad to see more custom levels.
I do wish there was a side by side comparison of this and the original, So that way I could appreciate this even more.

By far the best castle in any New Super Mario Bros. game; change my mind.
one of the best nsmb castles
Cool video, I have also been looking into nsmbw hacking lately so this is definently helpful.
This Video was great Eye bleach after seeing the horror that is Super Mario Bros Wonder. TH-cam is full of it at the moment.
I mean the DS is basically just like the Wii but smaller
I mean, less control options, different physics, smaller screen... Less movement options... So kinda...
You mean WiiU?
Someone needs to recreate NSMBDS in NSMBWii! This is amazing, Mayro. 'v'
The tiling! It's... good!
