Lydia's villian songs are a sort of butterfly effect thing, where she changes one or two thing in the original movie plot which causes the princess to becomea villian
If you click the word more in the description you get the whole story while Mirabel became a villain. Here’s the story for you anyway:
Mirabel has always tried to be understanding, tried to accept that her family was meant to shine and she was meant to blend into the background. She tried to be loving and kind and helpful but her family responded to that kindness with cruelty. They refused to see Mirabel as a valued member of the family and in our story instead of forgiving and trying to connect with her family Mirabel rejects them.
Out Mirabel has allowed her disdain and hatred grow, and now that darkness blinds her. Her pure heart tarnished by bitterness and her mind set on revenge. If they won’t see her as a valued member of the family then she’ll take away that what they treasure the most. To be loved and valued less than a candle, it’s laughable really.
And so it’s about time Mirabel places a mirror in front of her family, showing them exactly what she sees. Pepa, s frightened coward, hiding in her storms and constantly running from the truth. Dolores like her mother, too afraid of the truth and what it means to speak up. Isabela, putting on a performance everyday to avoid what facing herself could truly mean, what facing her thorns could mean. And alma, the Matriarch, sitting so high above them all that she can no longer see her family, can no longer see what truly matters
Every single member of her family saw Mirabel’s suffering, saw Bruno’s suffering and chose to ignore it. And so they are no longer worthy of her love, no longer deserving of all the sacrifices Mirabel has to make this family work. And so, the thing they love and value the most will be taken from them. Maybe then they’ll learn what truly matters, that’s if they make it out alive

The different parts sung all at once is called a Madrigal! It's clever to include and I love that Encanto did it.

I'm in choir, and usually, the voices with different parts are how many parts there are. So like, the whispers in the final bit of the video would be called 4-part because Lydia is playing the other 3 Mirabel verses in the background + Mirabel singing her 4th verse.
I've also heard it referred to as 4-part harmony, which I think would be harmony given it's all in sync, but I'm not entirely sure about that. Hope that makes sense and you all have a good day! (And if anyone wants to pitch in please do! I'm not perfect, after all.)

Wow. That was best villain song (though Meg's comes a pretty close second). I just how picturing what the story would have been like if Mirabel truly did allow the darkness to consume her after dealing with generational trauma for years from her own family - as well as practically being neglected from the villagers. The darkness being her only true companion, and turned her into the one that destroyed the magic. Though I wish Mirabel told off all of her family members; saving her grandmother for last. If Disney actually did that, made the protagonist become the villain...that definitely would have been something different. I guess we'll just have to wait until FanScription comes up with one.

Yeah. He was the only innocent one. The rest...they claimed to love Mirabel, but never stood up for her.

Honestly a villain Mirabel is the one that I think has the most evidence for it actually being possible.

@@xXWinter67Xx I honestly wish we can get a Cinderella 3 twist in time moment were we revisit Encanto but have it go down another path, it would still end in a happily ever after with everyone realizing their mistakes but it be cool to see how this show could have gone, it is a mix of mental trauma and toxic family trauma so it had a tons of ways it could of resolved itself into the same passive recovering ending.

To be honest it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Meribel became a/the villain, and I wouldn’t blame her. With all the crap that she’s had to put up with, not just from the entire village but from her own family too. All because she didn’t get a gift from that stupid candle. (I get why it was done, so don’t reply back to explain why) Her grandmother and sister were a-holes, her parents and other sister were useless, her aunt, uncle, and cousins were all cowards… I’m surprised that she held it together for that long. So again I wouldn’t blame her for getting revenge on her ‘family’

Love this song. But let’s be honest. Mirabel had an outburst in the movie. While it absolutely should have happened cuz there’s no way anybody could take such treatment from own family. There’s no way Mirabel would kill her parents, Antonio and Bruno(Felix also). Since they were always supportive of her.
