I think the flame mark is red on Tanjiro and his dad, but the Demon's were black, maybe that's just because he's a demon. I'm also really curious because wasn't the dude who Tanjiro called dad, didn't he have a scar? he also knew the dance, so maybe that wasn't his dad and his dad died, the Sun breathing guy was just there kind of retiring or after being hurt to the point of being out of commission and took the place as a father for Tanjiro? Or maybe Tanjiro's father learned the techniques but couldn't actually do them, so indirectly passed them down to Tanjiro who ended up able to do them.
I'm really curious about the family. Since Tanjiro didn't have the mark like they said the Sun breathing guy had, but it appeared on its own at the end of the last arc. So is there any familial connection to the Sun Breathing guy.

One correction is that the man from the flash back is not tanjiros dad, tanjiro has mentioned that his dad's name was tanjuro, while the person from the flash backs name was sumiyoshi.
This is insane, As a manga reader they did all the voices perfectly and the animation is out of this world as always

@@kittylitty01Tanjiro’s dad was shown twice, in the movie and in season one. He played an important part in Tanjiro remembering the Hinokami Kagura so I think it’s easy to remember his face (me personally) but even so, a quick google search will tell you who Tanjiro’s dad is, and it’s not manga spoilers either.
Season one was years ago, yes, but people also started making theories of Yoriichi being Tanjiro’s father back then, so when the anime revealed Tanjiro’s real dad, you would think that would stick to some people’s brains.
The Jar demon does seem like he would have the personality to say something like that @ 8:07 but in MY head, I think its more...scary/off-putting to think these demons had to train themselves to think like that cause otherwise Muzan would read their mind and kill them. Thats wild to me!

If you pay attention to his mouths, he didn't actually say that. He just thought it. Although it doesn't invalidate your point because Muzan knew what information Gyokko had before he said it so it is possible that because of the amount of Muzan's blood the UM's have, he can read their memories or something. Similar to how Daki unlocked a memory of Muzans' but inverse.
Love the voice actor for all the Upper Moon...when i read the manga i had more like Aizen Sosuke voice actor for Kokushibo but i think Byakuya works very well here...Doma is just perfect casting ! Don't underestimate that guy...Ufotable really flexed the animation here !! Well done !!

It's a bit funny you just assume that guy is Upper 1 when it doesn't make sense if you think about it. Muzan is still straight up terrified of him, and to make him a demon he'd need to straight up inject his blood in him. Why would Muzan be so terrified of that guy if he actually is his Upper 1?
This is not a spoiler but observation. Tanjiro dad had a yellow and black squares kimono and while Kokushibo (Upper moon 1) has purple and a unique design. I believe that the next episode will talk more about them but that's the observation that I have. Also I don't believe Kokushibo is related to Tanjiro because like Muzan said it's been 113 years since one of the Upper Moons got killed and no human can survive that long. They may have the same hair and the scars but I don't think they are related by blood. Also one more observation/thought. I believe tanjiro had a dream about the past of those people with one of the guy has Yellow-ish kimono and red and the guy with the green and black squares kimon his name is (Sumiyoshi). I think the guy (Sumiyoshi) that is holding the baby I believe the baby is tanjiro dad and maybe when tanjiro dad got his own kids he pass down the green and black cloak and the earrings to tanjiro. I hope it doesn't confuse you guys but that's my thought and observation.

FYI NOT A SPOILER: Tanjiro's dad is named Tanjuro meaning him and Sumiyoshi are not the same person, in other words Sumiyoshi is not Tanjiro's dad. Many reactors also forgot that Tanjiro mentioned in season 2 that his family sold charcoal for many generations which is precisely what Sumiyoshi stated in this encounter. Please remember small details, Demon Slayer is not the kind of story where you get many details thrown at you so if you can't even remember this, you are going to be missing a lot of stuff.

That guy that looks like Tanjiro is not Tanjiros dad, cause his dads name was Tanjuro. Sumiyoshi is his name they did say it but it could of gotten lost in the translation, and he is an ancestor of Tanjiro from the Sengoku Era which is like 500 years ago so around the 15th and 16th centuries.
I don't think that guy from the dream became a demon, the scars are different. Maybe the demon and the guy are related somehow, twins maybe?
