Yeah this kind of nasty water can give you a brain amoeba, I'm pretty sure. Some kids nearby where I live, swam in dirty water like this and they died a slow death. It was sad.
On the other hand, I think you guys are overhyping this too. You should have protection next time for your mouth and eyes. But glad you guys are enjoying yourselves.

Why does no one care that the water is so polluted? :( The city should pay to have it cleaned on a regular basis. If I lived there I would petition the city for it!!! If it was clean everyone could enjoy hanging around there. If you agree it should be cleaned up hit that thumbs up.

How does a lake in the centre of such a pretty park get so disgusting? It’s got a fountain spraying that gunk in tiny droplets in aerosol everywhere…. Where is the filtration system? It must REEK in hot weather. Shame on the local authorities. Also shame on everyone who chucked stuff in such a potentially beautiful body of water.
