You did Great ! By the way, for a 3 surface project (interior of a chapel) do you suggest to use on or more projectors ? (Imagine you cut in half the space) I'm wondering what's the best technic for this at the moment. I'm a newbie :) . Watching this video I'm thinkin', one is maybe enough ...
Hi! Thanks for watching. It depends on the location and angle of the surfaces. If they are angled a lot or spread too far it might be better to use more projectors. More than 45° isn't so good, also in regard of the focusing.
I have a question please: how do you measure the lens distance from the stage? lets say my projector native 16:9 Ratio lens 2.5x2.7 , and i have an open screen on the stage 15 meter width x 5.7 meter height , how much should i use per unit if i had something 3D in the middle ?
Thanks for watching! I'm not entirely sure if I get You completely but... 16:9 sounds like You are using 1920 by 1080 pixels. So The maximum width of You image is 1920 pixels. In this case, if You are corner pinning the content or distorting it a Width of 2000 pixels for You footage sound good. The lens' ratio should be something including 1: ... If it's not, or You don't know it, measure the distance from the lens to some projection area and measure it. The result can be translated into this equation "one meter of projection width" : "the distance in meters".
Love your work, I've been binge watching all of your videos! I know this may be much but could you by any chance elaborate further on the measurements relating to the height of the projector?
Thanks man! Welcome to the channel! BUT: You got me there Bru. This tut is aimed to do a rough estimation on a strictly on axis projection (I am working on a proper explanation for the situation of an off axis projection like lens shift or those small projectors.) So, it’s going to be veeeery roughly estimating as soon as there is any kind of lens shift involved. Right now, an AE camera at 0,0,x mimics a projector that’s perpendicular to the projection plane and in it’s center. I for one minute pretend there was no lens shift or perspective distortion happening: the projection plane is 16by9 and 2000 “units” wide - so it’s 2000/16*9 “units” high (1.125). So if Your actual plane is 6 m highly and You projector is at 4 meters your AE camera should be at roughly (-3)[ground level]+4[projector hight]/6[hight of the plane]*1.125[units of the plane hight] And now Your off axis which means You will have to rotate AE perpendicular film plane with the camera which will introduce keystone ... yadayada, we’re basically f..ed at this point. I’m working on a mathematically accurate tutorial on this. If anyone out there is a math genius: please reach out for a collab!

Ah. Now we are getting closer to the question. It’s a good idea to use a system (of server and software). In every case you’ll need someone dedicated to learning it. There are four solutions I would suggest (and many more out there) Coolux Pandora’s Box - not cheap and not easy but potent Stumpff Pixera - easier to learn, free Demo Download A strong Mac, qLab and someone who really knows after effects to create prerendered content Touchdesigner, if you are doing abstract reactive visuals.
Großartig, vielen Dank! Wurde nicht schlimmer durchs Erklären.. ;)
Just Awesome ..
Very use full video thank you so much
THX for the fun ..
hi im using windows. can you explain how to view just the preview only not with the frames together
Did You try setting your „settings/video preview“ to mercury transmit?

That might be quite useful indeed

When I project the object white screen appear sides How to full black out the Projecter
Is your composition the same resolution as your projector?
nice one thank you really helpfull :)

como sacar el monitor de after effects al proyector mientras editas? yo uso after effects cs6, pero soy principiante, o sea novel.
Con el proyector conectado busca “vídeo preview” en los preferences de AE. Y en esto puedes activar el Exit para el proyector

how do you display just your preview on the projector?
You mean the mercury preview? Settings-> video preview
which software your using??
In this case After Effects. At least that’s what the tutorial is for. ;]

Touchdesigner, if you are doing abstract reactive visuals.
You can make one hell of teacher..
is the ONLY software you use to achieve this After Effects?
Most 3D softwares work in a similar way. Also the media servers that use a virtual camera.
@@philipp7pc Thanks. Are you able to do a video using blender vtp?
I’m afraid there are many others out there who are far more competent in blender. I could try sometime. I’ll put that on my list of possible topics.
