I loved koh mak when I visited there in 2018. Proper tropical paradise not like the islands down south. I went scuba diving there as well and the marine life is pretty good.

That is one of the most peaceful and breathtaking beaches I have seen in awhile. Carolina was just loving the white sand and warm water and all the beauty of the island you both kayaked out to. Sad they did not finish the resort but it was a plus for peace and quiet. The best was just the two of you for awhile before others started showing up. Chris, to bad you didn't get drone footage of the whole island but what you got was very nice. The reason that hotel never complete is that the local government would not grant a certificate for the hotel registration because this hotel was build with many illegal things. Such as building a dam in the sea just infront of the beach to prevent a wave hit island without asking for permission first. Also they build an extra area of the white sand beach by pouring more sand onto the beach to increase beach area, again without asking for permission. Thus, the investor stop building coz there is no point continue building it. 🙂🙏😄 Fact from Thai news 9 years ago.
