The devs got no skill of their own and they're too lazy to test out their random trash level so they just add hidden block to hide everything, thus it become uncleared.
So the hilarious part about the "Mushroom track" level is that it was a level designed to try and exploit the 1/100 chance at a skinny mushroom. When you go to upload the level, the game literally forces every mushroom to be a normal one. But this level tries to take advantage of that by giving the player a really high chance at getting one, followed by a "test" that would determine whether they player had a skinny mushroom or just a regular mushroom. You managed to trick it by getting hit and doing that 2 frame jump, but the original idea was that the level would be nearly impossible since if you had the skinny mushroom you'd just go up top and be softlocked or die or something.
Umm... You do know that if you complete the last four levels, I believe, N- something 2015 1-4, it would say, "shake a mushroom in the smb1 theme for a surprise" I believe.

The setup of the Fish Taco level is used to make nearly impossible levels, it's based on the fact that by giving you A LOT of mushrooms one of them would be the weird mushroom, which don't spawn when clearing the course before uploading. But for some reason that level was beatable with small mario so yeah I don't know what the creator was smoking when making that stage.
@@michaelmerrick6275 iirc its supposed to only be beatable if you DONT get lanky mario. So it's super super super unlikely. If I can remember properly, if you are lanky mario then you jump too high for the bob-omb and get stuck. But if you are just big mario then you set it off, and can go in the pipe. So the creator messed this up because of the 2 frame jump Ryu can do to set the bomb off.
Michael Merrick there are so many mushrooms that is basically guaranteed to get a lanky mushroom, however when uploading the level, it doesn’t let you get a lanky mushroom. There is a detector that doesn’t let you pass if you are lanky Mario. So, it is a basically impossible level, but it can still be uploaded by the creator. However, the level was poorly made, and Ryu cheesed it.
Here's my opinion on adding downloading levels back into MM2: I don't think that Nintendo needs to re-add the ability to download and EDIT levels. That's how thousands of levels were just stolen and reuploaded in MM2. It would increase chances of the same levels appearing in Endless runs over and over again. What they SHOULD add is the ability to download levels and look at them in the editor. Now people could see how creators pulled off contraptions in their levels, as well as finding hidden blocks like ryu did in the last level. This would keep people from reuploading a level, unless they took the time to copy it all by hand, which not many would do, but still add in the main reason why people liked downloading levels. I hope others agree with me so that Nintendo can change it in this way! Anyways, I loved the video as always, ryu. Have a great day! I'mma head out...
I fricken LOVE when you do MM1 videos. I still think it’s the better title of the two, and that the community will eventually either make Nintendo update MM2 for the better, or get split between people who prefer MM1 to 2. There’s no doubt that it improved on many aspects, but those changes also changed the dynamic of the game, and not necessarily for the better. I really like the new Link powerup and update, even though some of it (well, all of it, really) seemed like entirely random things that’s people weren’t like super concerned with at all. P-Switch blocks are the most random thing to me. They’re one-time-use on-off blocks, and last I checked there’s no item or powerup that can activate an on-off that can’t activate a P-Switch and vice versa. Mostly I just miss 100 Man Super Expert. Endless Mario is a GREAT concept, but only in conjunction with 100 man, not in place of it. Idk, I’m still bitter about that, and also putting NSO paywall in between creator levels and players... meh
10:41 this level uses an OOOOLD glitch. Every 100th Mushroom is a Weird Big Mushroom, if you have this you cant finish the level. This could only be uploaded because it DOES NOT spawn in the Editor, so you could clear a level with a jump only big noodle mario can reach. He used it backwards.
the level at 10:06 is supposed to be impossible. it forces the player to become weird mario so that they can't get past the bomb helmet section. the fact they also damadge the player before the section makes it possible again. the design is a duplicate of another level made to be impossible, but edited slightly.
The level picture for Thwomp Mayhem gives away the easy path. You can see the spot with no Thwomp, the open block above, the flat path to the flag, and the open block that gives access to the flag. The only thing it doesn't give away is how to get to the opening, with the obvious first choice being hidden blocks directly below it. Of course this does nothing for people who encountered it in 100-man.
I wish there could be multiple sub world and infinite space to create in levels. As long as the creator can complete it, we should be able to have infinite space and multiple subworlds to create in.
That last level literally says "use the hidden block to..." So I assume it is not that no one found it in 3.5 years but more like no one gave much care to the level.

At 10:30 in the video, that was an unclearable level. Here’s how it works: Basically, in maker mode, you can’t be lanky mario (a 1/100 chance by reg. Mushrooms) However while playing the level, you can. By forcing you to collect a lot of mushrooms, odds are you will become lanky mario. However, the creator of the level cannot. Lanky mario has a higher jump height, so @ the end, you won’t be able to make it through. However the lvl. creator (as normal mario) can reach the goal just fine. This method is used in Ceave gaming’s video. Here’s the link: m.th-cam.com/video/9D5i3K5-QxM/w-d-xo.html skip to 5:10 for explanation. Nevermind, that was just a joke I guess.

The fish taco level reminds me of a level I played in SMM2 that you had to wait most of the time and if you were away it killed you. I just missed the timing to open a door and quit.
The fish taco level was made to be LITERALLY impossible. The mushroom part was supposed to exploit a difference between the level verification and the normal level, so anyone who plays the level will have a 99.9999% chance of failing the check and losing. Fortunately for you, in normal Ryu fashion, you just cheesed it and past the impossible part.
Downloading courses led to people copying them and reuploading. However, totally agree about reinstating the website, that sounds like a wonderful functionality. Plus, they can use it for people to brag about their achievements online to people without the game!
There's an irony to you being exposed to Japanese alphabets every day on level titles but Spanish somehow being the one that doesn't really sound like real language.
Another problem with Mario Maker 1 is that there are actual impossible levels since glitches were patched but the old levels that used them are still active.
10:10 This level was in Ceave Gaming's video "Is it Possible to Upload an Impossible Level in Super Mario Maker?" (th-cam.com/video/9D5i3K5-QxM/w-d-xo.html) as an example of a level that's nigh-impossible to clear yet can be uploaded on the first try. It's designed to be impossible to clear if you get a weird mustroom. And when uploading, you can't ever randomly get a weird mushroom. Well, Ryu didn't care about the "designed to be impossible" part and just cheesed it.
I think they took out the ability to download courses so there were 100 clones of popular courses being uploaded. That being said, I think if you could send a msg to the creator of the level to Request Download Permission, that might help that problem happen less
I'm really enjoying these videos. I'm drifting back to SMM 1 more because of things I miss, like costumes, the bookmarks, and the excellent troll levels Ryukahr conquers.
So the fish taco level was probably trying to be impossible. In normal play, mushrooms have about a 1% chance to spawn as Weird Mushrooms. That doesnt apply to clear checks. So by force feeding you a few hundred mushrooms, he basically guaranteed you’d get a weird one, and tried (and failed) to make the level impossible with a weird shroom, but possible with a regular shroom.
I think they chose to not do the bookmark site because of internet safety for teens and children. They had to cover their behinds (beyond the TOS they already have) to prevent misuse of the bookmark site.
That fish taco one was meant to be unbeatable. I think ceave gaming was who made a demo vid on how to make completely unbeatable levels in Mario maker. And he found one that wouldn’t be bearable if you were lanky Mario. So he had that first section to make sure you became lanky Mario then a normal Mario only section. I don’t think the taco creator knew how to set it up properly.
I remember something about the setup in that one level to force you to get a lanky Mario.. since you couldn't (randomly) get them in uploading, isn't there a way to use that to make an unbeatable level? or something?
Ryu doesn't know that the one level with all the mushrooms was supposed to be impossible because when creating a level lanky mushrooms don't spawn and that was used to try and make the level impossible but the cheese master himself did it again

I think they took out the ability to download courses so there were 100 clones of popular courses being uploaded. That being said, I think if you could send a msg to the creator of the level to Request Download Permission, that might help that problem happen less
Nintendo: adds spikes, pokies, and the master sword.
Ryu: I want to play the original.
Me: alright, you do you man. I won't judge.
I love the MM1 videos. OH and the taco level has an impossible level concept in it, that you cheesed.
I'm really enjoying these videos. I'm drifting back to SMM 1 more because of things I miss, like costumes, the bookmarks, and the excellent troll levels Ryukahr conquers.
The implication behind that Fish Tacos level was very clear and doesn’t deserve a single clear.
10:36 LMAO RYU UPPIN LEFT
18:32: Title "kakushi burokku wo tsukatte | Use the hidden block(s)". I guess nobody in Japan could be bothered to download huh?
Nintendo incorporated the detailed search into SMM2 itself, which is basically what everyone used the site for.
Not being able to edit downloaded levels is probably a way to prevent level stealing (download and upload). They could add a read-only mode though...
I feel like I've seen Ryu play these levels before, but it might just be that a LOT of these levels look really similar haha
This, ladies and gentlemen is why there is a booing system in mario maker 2
There's a special place in helheim reserved for the creators of levels like the "I'll Give You A Fish Taco".
Nobody:
Me: it’s 3am and I’m watching Ryu
8:29 would be a shame if anyone were to take 90% of what ryu says out of context
THANK YOU for play SMM1 =)
I would just like to thank you for your service in "taking out the trash in SMM1"
WE WILL NEVER FORGET!
Man, Ryu did Shy guy dirty. Gave him the level to play but took the controller. Shy Guy was killing it for a minute though.
I’m a simple man. I see new intro logo animation, I like.
At 12:33 it looks like Ryu spit that fireball out of his mouth.
I don't like SMM1 but I like ryukahr so I will stomach this shit.
Omg.. that fish taco lvl and your face expression had me laughing for 10 minutes
I remember something about the setup in that one level to force you to get a lanky Mario.. since you couldn't (randomly) get them in uploading, isn't there a way to use that to make an unbeatable level? or something?
I watched another vid on the fish taco level. That level was made to guarantee the skinny mario mushroom. It was more of an experiment.
You can still download levels, you just can't edit them, which is probably a good thing as it probably makes stealing harder.
"Fish Tacos sound delicious" (famous last words of many'a MEN)
Behold, another great video by the high priest of SMM1, keeping the fire alive in the catacombs under the Mushroom Kingdom.
Ryu doesn't know that the one level with all the mushrooms was supposed to be impossible because when creating a level lanky mushrooms don't spawn and that was used to try and make the level impossible but the cheese master himself did it again
The crudest of garbage, unlike SMM1 where the garbage is most refined and exquisite.
