Parmigiani is a very under rated brand, one needs to see it, touch it, feel it to understand it.......
+citygreek1 I'd agree with that. There's a ton of capability within the circle of specialist manufacturers that comprise the brand. Other than perhaps pivot jewels and shock protection springs, I can't really think of anything that they *must* purchase from outside the group. Event the well-known contract with Hermes to supply straps is a matter of choice and prestige, not necessity.

Love it! Palladium? .... That's not very common.
+Roelf van der Merwe True, and at $550+ per ounce, it's a legitimate precious metal. Parmigiani was a leader (along with Ulysse Nardin) in producing palladium wristwatches. I believe Parmigiani built its first Palladium watch in 2005 and UN launched its own in 2006/2007. Among other advantages, it has impressive weight, it's immune to corrosion, it's hypoallergenic, and unlike many white gold alloys, palladium never needs to be plated with a "white" cloaking agent like rhodium.
