CJC did 38s on their green 2500 build, I wonder if this would be enough clearance for that, or if a little more aggressive trimming would be required? A lot of people say that they’re fitting 37s with minimal plastic trimming, but I would really prefer to try using heat to shape the plastic back if possible. Maybe that with some pinch weld grinding. As always your finished product here looks amazing!
Hi Marvin, yes they use 38s with trimming the liner , not sure if they also cut the flange . I’m running 37x13.5. With 1.5” offset my friend on the white power wagon use to have 37x12.5 and still in full lock and flex you rub a lot including carli 2.5” pin top . Use heat Gun don’t help much if you have the sticking flange behind it . After all if you trim the liner is loose so the wheel touch it in some cases anyway
Interesting modification. Why not just tack weld the filler plate directly to the pinch wield and eliminate the mounting plate? I am also curious...if the mounting plate is stainless steel and the pinch wield is steel will there be an issue with two dissimilar metals in contact with each other? Or will the painting the pinch weld and mounting plate prevent a reaction?
The back mounting plate is tag welded to the flange which you need to trim so you need to paint it anyway plus the tag weld . Why mounting plate and cover plate ?? Because you pushing back also the fender liner and if you want to remove or change it you will have problem if you weld the cover plate over . All parts from me are stainless including the bolts . If you interested send me email tyvole.offroad@gmail.com thank you 🙂
Will this work on a ram 2500 limited? I’m trying to stuff 20x10 -19 with some 295/60r20 Toyo AT3’s under her and I don’t want any rubbing. If this kit will allow me to go with even more offset I will! Like -25 or -44. Thanks!
That is awesome how did you keep the mounting plate connected to the pinch weld panel's? Looks awesome wouldn't mind get that setup done to mine. Will have to see how my new radius arms from firch fab reposition my wheels forward. Your stuff is always top knotch
Thank you 🙂The mounting plate have 3 holes follow the flange of the body so after you trim it you spot weld the mounting plate to the body Thru the holes same time you tag weld the flanges back to gather . Easy installation .
@TY VOLE so when is that kit going to be available to buy? And are you doing the installations ? I can swing by one of these days if your available. Is that black under coating or some water proofing surface treatment
So is this kit/labor all that’s required to provide sufficient clearance for full articulation of factory bead lock wheel on 37 x 12.5 tire? You do some nice creative work 👍
Man your killing it with the mods still the best power wagon on u-tube 🏆
Thank you Terry 🙂
