Beautiful bike , the bike that never get old because its already look classic retro. Unlike other new designer on other brands they are trying to make a bike that look advance future but after 5 years old when you look to your bike it seems out dated.

      Somehow yes, ... agree ...
... the 650 should get better front brakes first of all, as they are really far out of standard already ...
... but they should keep the V2 for the more touring oriented version ...
      ... and ...
... for a more offroad oriented version a parallel twin

Big ADV bikes are used on pavement first of all.
It is just a modern marketing to make long suspension travel but not useful as on pavement it is just a disadvantage.

@@wernerhaiden622 What I really appreciate about the VStroms (both 650 & 1050) is that they are honest motorcycles. They don't promise a lot and they don't leave the rider high and dry with expectations. Very few manufacturers market their products honestly these days.

      I agree 100%.
Most manufacturers use a lot of money for marketing, which need to be paid. They just tell you about the blue sky and often promise more than what it is. The conclusion is that you spend more money to be betrayed.
I have a 650 (Yom 2015), I always test the new ADV bikes, but so far, I saw no reason to change. I was always happy to drive home with my honest Suzuki.
Only the front brakes on the 650 are really out of date and should get an update but anything else is just any good and even better than others.

IMO. Suzuki is rational as always
We all know that it is better to run low pressure tube tires offroad .The front is hit harder ,has lower chance to get leaked and even so taking it off is not a big deal.
The rear ,have no choice to keep it tubeless for convenience
We end up carry only 1 21" spare tube that can solve all tires problem.

    It still looks boring.
The design sucks more and more. It has been constantly degrading since those great examples of engineering and design of v-stroms from 2004- 2011.
Guy's from Suzuki when you wake up? Or at least bring those great 2004-2011 models back! I would like to buy a V-Strom again, but not these ugly ones even though they might perform perfectly with all their amazing specs. I would rather buy some slightly used 2007 dl 650, for the price of a new 1050 one , but these new - no, thanks.
You simply have killed a great masterpiece and keep pushing these ugly forms on the market. Make a research and ask independent riders or even owners of your new Stroms, If even one person likes these shapes and lines. I think you will be surprised. Or maybe you have known already and just keep insisting no matter what. You'd better hire new designers until it's too late. Even Chinese manufacturers create much more interesting bikes.
Sorry, but I am a true fan and really love a 2007 Strom 650. Can't watch how you kill the beauty. Sorry.

if it's really a tube spoked wheel, I agree, this is not good at ALL.
Nearly nobody is using the big ADV bikes offroad.
21" front wheel and long suspension travel are therefore anyway useless for the majority and a disadvantage driving on pavement on all big ADV's.
Spoked reems are in add. much heavier and if a tube is added than even more.
Again a disadvantage which nearly all big ADV bike riders have to suffer.
Spoked big wheels make sense for the smaller categories but not for the big one's. It is just made modern by stupid marketing.

One thing bothers me with V-stroms. Why on earth Suzuki keeps making this stupid handguards for v-stroms (for decades) that don't protect anything, look ugly and can be easily pulled out with two fingers? Isn't it hard for such a big manufacturer to figure out that even on a standing bike these handguards are just spring out off bearings right after they touch the ground or a thick branch. And you stay not only with a damaged handlebar end but with a broken lever. I might understand that this is a kind of a business model to make money constantly selling new bar ends and useless guards.
But people can be stocked somewhere high in mountains under the rain at night with broken clutch lever just because someone in Suzuki think that exposed bar end, instead of covered and protected, and crappy guards is a good thing for their business. I personally faced such problems myself in Caucasus in 2013 with a 1000 v- strom. The very same problem I saw after my friend dropped his dl650 bike. I also have dropped my 1200 gs many times on sharp rocks and stock BMW plastic guards have never failed. Never! I can always trust them.
Why you just not make protective handguards like all other manufacturers do but these trash instead? Why? You don't even sell aftermarket decent guards. Why you do this to riders who trust the brand?
