I had the exact issue with film loading and first advancing reported by other users. No slot in the film wind side, come ON Ilford, that's ridiculous, only some sprocket teeth? That's not good enough. First thing that happened was that the film started feeding back behind itself. I reloaded and tried to get the film to wind properly BEFORE just closing the back. Seems ok now.

Usually when opening a film camera you can see the fabric screen in front of the chamber and possibly see light through it but this chamber is solid plastic. How does light get through the lens to the film?

    • @8storeytree

I took 21 pictures so far and noticed that my frame counter was back at 1. I haven’t done anything besides leave it in my backpack. Does the camera only go to 24 and then start all over from 1? It’s still winding every time I take a photo so I’m not sure if it’s still working or not. I’m afraid to remove the film because I don’t want my pictures to get ruined 😭

Hi!! I have a question. I watched the video and placed the film in. When I wind to take a picture, it’s like it’s hard to wind. It advances but it’s difficult. The rewind knob turns when I advance the film.
