Kinda do when people don't just wanna go, "Say man, the game fucked up; get it how you live," when they claim to put their street cred behind them but still give a fuck about this stuff, like they put someone away in Feds or something and it just requires a massive explanation.
Bro got attacked for pretty much no reason, his gang affiliation being pretty much incidental to the entire affair because the guy was already clearly trying to crash out on other people and other paperwork and eyewitness testimony proves that's the case and that's exactly what happened here. Young guy, bleeding out of his head, his only real concern was beating a street charge. He wasn't even thinking about Dry Snitching - which, at worst, is what he did here.
I can tell you one thing: at many camps, the reps in dorms will *not* let you send *any* kind of paper out that door or an electronic request without somebody else who's got good rep verifying it and you're not gonna put something like, "I need to speak to the warden/captain/whatever the fuck passes for rank." Nah, you're gonna explain what you're trying to do. If you're smart, any time you have to speak to a CO you're gonna be loud so the ear-hustlers can't get shit twisted and never have a private conversation with these dudes. Just ammunition for people to build cases off of you especially if you're somewhere nobody knows you.
I've known people to keep dudes by the phones one way or another so if anything gets out that way they know who and where it was and won't do anything unless something comes of it, and then they'll act accordingly.
Then again I've also seen incompetence and such a grand scale that dudes that walked into a facility with no tattoos suddenly have brand new ones all over their face and arms, get on video visits and flash their new prison ink, then be like, "EeEyYyY mAn SoMeBoDy SnItChIn!!!1111" when the dorm gets shook down and the tattoo man gets hit.
Fact is most of these people are dumb and if you're gonna live this life be prepared to either do what it takes to survive and thrive or decide you're gonna just die young behind something unfathomably stupid.
