    2020 has been a heck of a year for me...I lost my sister in January and my Mom in February. I became a TH-cam junkie! I can't tell you how much your videos mean to me, Kyle, they are so uplifting! Love, love, love that Calcite specimen, it is truly museum worthy. And I adore echinoids, so this is one of my favorite "Kyle" episodes! Hope all is well with you, sweetie, I listen to your album often!😁💖

    Great video Kyle! Thanks to you and Chris, I was able to identify the echinoid my niece found while we were swimming the Rainbow River. But man, that chunk of calcite was amazing. The last couple of your videos, I have thought, "how cool it would be if you used some of you music strategically, in the background." Like while you are paddling, driving or walking. It can really add dimension to your videos while getting your music out there. You could include links to the place to purchase the music. Also, if you aren't already on Facebook and Instagram, those would be good places to promote your videos and music. You are so talented and nice, I really want to see your channel take off!

    I enjoy hunting in the farmers fields near my house. My home is situated right on a glacial moraine, and I have been finding fossils from the Pennsylvanian to the Devonian along with a wide variety of different rocks. Just got the black light that y’all use and I can not wait to try it out when I go back home. I haven’t been able to do much rock hunting as of recent because I am now in college studying geology, with hopes to work at my state’s museum in the natural resource department. That way I can teach geology to the kids here in Illinois. I enjoy watching your videos, and they are a portion of what inspired me to study geology!

    Sooo, you asked how I cope with COVID-19 and isolation and the stress of late and all? I work for a hospital company with a bunch of nurses, and we all just got vaccinated because they come in contact with patients who're often sick with the virus, and I come in contact with them. So stress relief is pretty important. I live in AZ, so I hike in the desert as much as I can, go geocaching, rockhound, knap points out of obsidian, and take photos of Native American petroglyphs and ruins. I started making planted aquariums at the start of the whole COVID thing and was going to just do one, but they're addictive and now I have three. And I play with my pets (3 snakes, 3 bearded dragons, 5 ferrets, 2 desert tortoises (currently brumating) and 2 cats), cook (Japanese food is a fav), knit, sew masks and read a lot. ^_^ And then I go back to work. Gotta tell you, my RN coworkers are amazing; nurses are freakin' tough. Thanks for the great video, and thanks for asking! Stay healthy, okay? (Also, that piece of calcite, daaaaaaamn!)

    I never knew that sand dollars and sea biscuits were part of the sea urchin family til I watched your channel. I know I would have preferred walking through them then those ouchy black spined sea urchins to go swimming in the atlantic ocean. I always loved horseshoe crabs and tried to save them when I found them washed upside down on the ancient coral reefs you had to walk on along that shore. Needless to say I toughened up my feet up and I can still walk on rocks barefoot. Loved your Calcite Crystal find it will be beautiful when you clean it up.

    Honestly, I watch some of your videos to cope. They're extremely interesting and fun. Sadly, there isn't a whole lot of fossil hunting spots up here in Indiana but its cool to see all the awesome things you and Chris can find. I'm currently in an Intro to archaeology class in college and the artifacts that one can find, like arrowheads and spearpoints, are really fascinating. I am also taking a geology class next semester that is all about gemstones and I am so excited to learn more about that. My interest in all this kind of stuff is because of watching your videos these past couple of years.

    Kyle, I have been de-stressing by watching you and your friends, and by watching funny stuff on youtube and binge-watching shows on netflix. I am a server at Cheddars, so that keeps me occupied, but I have got to get out and do some of my own hunting before I lose my mind!!
    Love your videos and cant wait to see more. Maybe we can meet up at some point. There's a lot of places around the GA coast I want to check out!

    I love watching your videos because of the cool and exotic stuff you find down there on the opposite side of our country. We might be coming down to Orlando in December and I’d love to hunt for those coral geodes you find in some of your other videos. Thank you for the inspiration! And yes, rockhounding and getting outdoors is how I cope.

    Echinoids are my favorite fossil and everything around me is eocene, but we didn't have that landscape! I have to drive 4 hours to get to limestone! But I'll enjoy watching you find them instead for now...
    I'm NOT coping. My mother passed away a month ago and I'm not handling it well. Trying to still make videos and Do Stuff but I get too distracted while trying to edit. Isolation prior to her death was wearing on me but this is a whole new level of pain.

    Do you write songs about fossils and shark teeth. Those would make great children's songs. With all that has been going on I have watched so many videos on TH-cam. Educational, arty, travel vlogs, cultural cooking, foreign tv, colored, read books and spent afternoons in the back yard amongst nature. Missed my vacation to Sanibel and wished I could go now. Oh well next year.

    • @WILDKYLE
      @WILDKYLE  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      HAHAHAHA 🤣 I love that you get that excited along with me, it's awesome! Non-fossil echinoids are always a hollow shell type thing once they are dead for a while. So we know these are fossils because they are basically just limestone at this point haha.

    Some of those conglomerate pieces of green rock, remind me of the HULK during his
    transformation. Since you are planning to display some on shelves, maybe you could combine pieces and form the Hulk, add some torn up shorts he wears paint black hair on his head. You might need a Google reference for his face. It might sound crazy to you, but I think it would be Kool. What do you think WILDKYLE?
