      Hi @ChiefSweetsUniverse
      Thank you for an EXCELLENT introductory bearded dragon care guide video!
      I’m setting up a habitat and look forward to getting my first bearded dragon.
      (I’ve previously had a yellow rat snake, an iguana, and an alligator snapping turtle, as pets).
      This is GREAT info, concise, and well delivered!
      I’ve subscribed to your channel, downloaded this video (and several of your other videos), and have watched this one at least three times!
      Thanks again!

    Can you touch on uva? i have a 24" arcadia uvb setup that does uvb and A and a basking bulb that outputs some uva as well is this too much? from what i found all bulbs produce uv of some kind. I could be totally wrong about this but i'm still learning. Thanks

  • @chelsegorn
    @chelsegorn ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Question: you said you can use Ceramic Heat Emitters for the basking spot, but halogen bulbs are better. Why are they better? If I have a tube T5 Arcadia bulb and proper light for the rest of the tank, what makes the halogen bulb superior to a CHE? I’m genuinely curious. I had a CHE for my last beardie, with the proper T5 Arcadia bulb. Now I’m looking to set up a tank for a new beardie and I’m genuinely curious about this. I’ve been watching a ton of beardie care videos and reading a lot of articles but nobody really says why one is better than the other. Thanks so much for your videos, I can tell you have a lot of experience, your videos have been extremely helpful :)

    • @ChiefSweetsUniverse
      @ChiefSweetsUniverse  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I got you! So halogen is better because it provides IRA and IRB which is infared spectrum heat sources. These sources are very efficient in absorption and deep penetrating subculonecus tissue. Deep heat projectors are IRC which are not very good at penetrating deep tissue and don’t replicate sunlight like halogens do.

When I took it to my vet she told me that I need to find a multivitamin without Phosphorus but I've been having a really hard time finding one. Hello sir, Would you suggest the Arcadia 12% T5 for the 36x18x18 Dubia enclosure? I plan on upgrading to the 4x2x2 but my dragon is still a young juvenile. I know it depends on how high my basking area is, so I was wondering if it would be wiser to use a T8 to avoid too much uvb. I don’t plan on bringing it into the cage as I think it will for sure be too much lighting for a 18 inch tall cage

    • @ChiefSweetsUniverse
      @ChiefSweetsUniverse  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No the dubia enclosure does block 43% of uvb through screen I’d suggest the t5 for sure. 7 to 14 inches would be appropriate basking zone on top of screen with a Arcadia 12% t5 ho

    If they receive daily sunlight do they still need the lamps?

    • @ChiefSweetsUniverse

      Depends is it direct sunlight or sunlight through a window? The reason is sunlight through a. Window would block 99% of uvb so they would still need a uvb lamp however if you have them in outdoor enclosures with direct sunlight maybe a screen top that’s totally fine and you wouldn’t need any lamps.

      @@ChiefSweetsUniverse Yeah I mean direct sunlight, I live in Mexico and have access to my roof and my roof it's not like the typical roof you would imagine think of like the roof of an appartment building where you can have some birds or maybe some chairs to sit and relax, my parents have some plants there, so its like a place yo go to chill or when you need to check the water tanks that feed the house of water etc. There is also some zone with shadow but direct sunlight gets really good there.
      I wanted to ask: Can they be fed any insects? like crickets are abundant near my home, they always come inside the house at night. There are also this spiders that in Mexico we call them "araña patona" but their scientific name is: Pholcus phalangioides. Can those be fed or spiders are no? they are not venomous. Also we get something we call "tijerillas" which name is Lepisma saccharina. I have access to many bugs also ants but I wouldn't want to make a mistake if I ever buy one of this guys which I really do but I don't want to screw up.
