- 1.20 has only been out for a couple days so it's obviously silly and someone could still beat it but this is a pretty good time for the version, it's the 2nd fastest 1.18+ run ever though which is good for an unofficial 1.5 year old category
in case you're confused, this is not the actual minecraft world record, that is still a 7:45 in 1.16.1, this is just the fastest 1.20 run (so far)
java edition not bedrock edition
1.18+ is super slow since a lot of lava sources are removed meaning less good nethers per hour. brutes lose you a bit of time but mostly just because they replace normal piglins so your trading is slower than usual. a broken pie chart + nether fog means playing nethers is a lot more difficult too. also of course getting 1/4th of the normal amount of pearls can lose a lot of time and make you reset a lot more runs. otherwise it's not too bad
fun but very grindy version definitely worth trying

I just explained the concept of speedruns to my kids using this run as a showcase. They are super impressed, well done!

@@crispybacon91I searched and he uses a software to calculate the exact cords...i was impressed at first, but i dont like runs like this, I like when it's random seed and the don't use things like this software and don't need to he changing configs to things don't load
@MisaelJefte he throws 2 eyes from different positions facing different directions, from that info you can do basic math calculation to do the triangulation of the location even without any software, even by hand you could do it pretty fast in a couple seconds.

@@MisaelJefte if you just do f3 and calculate the exact same thing on a calculator theres no difference. That's why its allowed. He used f3+c which copied his location in /execute format. The bot will detect that and use the angle to find the stronghold regardless

what does the constant changing of sensitivity and draw distance do??
You lower your render distance in the fortress to increase the likelihood of blaze spawns, mobs need to spawn somewhere and they cant spawn outside of render distance. The sensitivity being lowered is just for seeing the angle the eye of ender is pointing to, you have to aim at a specific pixel.

A Record you can try to break is 1.20.1 in hardcore vanilla. Current record are close to 1 hour (53min)
ive only beaten minecraft once
i did everything very very slowly up until the End (the dimension) i didnt die
then i died to the dragon 10 times coz i didnt know how the perching patterns worked
and also i had netherite leggings, diamond chestplate and iron armor for the rest
i took 6 hours

Tbh perching patterns don’t matter in casual play at all, you just shoot the end crystals down and just fire arrows at it and hit it when it seemingly randomly comes down
You want to see speedrun specific videos from top speedrunners (VODs, PBs, tutorial videos).
Also I suggest watching rekrap1. He's himself new to speedrunning but is already pretty good and that's why his tutorial videos are super good for beginners.

Biggest question I have is how did you know where to place that Nether portal in the lava to get directly be teleported into the stronghold?
He uses a calculator called Ninja Brain Bot, which is legal

@@faustianfoe3111 he had plenty of time to task overlap the portal lighting with other stuff, and it rarely takes that long. I know the basic principles but was curious whether I missed something else for why he didn’t do that
@@BluePi3142 Like I said, especially in 1.20 and other newer versions, even on hard difficulty it's much faster to find iron and smelt it than to leave it up to RNG and sit there for 4 minutes waiting for the portal to light up, in the case of this run he got demolished by luck in that first cave and that ended up wasting like 50 seconds. Besides there was nothing that could take 4 minutes to do to really overlap things considering that the golem kill and gathering tools and food only takes 40 seconds tops.

Generation is arguably worst, piglin trades are objectively worst, f3+f is disabled, piglin brutes and gamma 5 which is possible in 1.16 by editing options.txt and allowed for speed runs is impossible without modding the game code
Also no magma ravines so you can’t enter the nether like that (typical route now)

It takes way too long in 1.20 especially, it's not a viable strat for speedrunning as it can take up to 4-5 minutes sometimes.

Bedrock and Java are separate categories because of all the differences between BR/Java. Basically different games when it comes to speedrunning.
