  • In this video I show how to remove copper from transformers.
In the video I use 3 different methods to remove the copper.
The second way is with a machete which is my favorite way
The third way is very easy with just using a hacksaw
Watch here where I remove the copper from a motor with a machete.

Ok, so I have an improvement to the first way, that is SOO MUCH faster, for me.
Just run down to your local hardward store and pickup a 20lb sledgehammer.
Their cheap, economical, no moving parts to break, and they make short work of small, easily destructed transformers.

It’s a fun hobby. But the machete method is incredibly fast.

No need to be rude, no one forced you to watch.

You never know who is at the beginning of their scrapping journey and does not yet have many tools. Seeing it done with basic items is encouraging as it shows you do not have to already own tools to start. Perhaps doing it that way allows them to gather their first load to then go buy other tools.
Maybe microscrapping is all they can do, or they enjoy it.
Perhaps they are stressed, like me, and find release in appropriately wacking things with a hammer.
