Spenser, you have REALLY hit upon something with this game. It offers inclusion to so many people that just don't have the confidence to participate in a "verbal" RPG like D&D, giving them such a great opportunity to show their creativity without the anxiety of being a spectacle. Who can't text? Have watched all your sessions and read the materials numerous times, hosting my first game this week. Also, it doesn't take much to alter or edit the characters/motivations/secrets, etc. to fit into a specific theme or group without losing the basic heart of the game. Really, well done.
Alice is Missing is such a powerful game. It's equal parts heart breaking and entertaining. I only hope that more RPG channels find this game and play it so I can see more of my favorite role players experience the tragic setting of Alice is Missing. Big thanks to Becca and Good Times Society for hosting this incredible game again.
3 years after this got streamed, I finally find this game for the first time and I love it so much. It hurt me in all the right ways. Fantastic (silent) performance from all of you. Thanks for this :)
2 years old, Just finished my first experience of this amazing gift of a game. Honestly, the 4 minute settling of the music to set the mood before the game started with the first message had strong impact. Excited to finish watching with this group.
I really wish we could see the cards they drew.:-/ but I'm conflcted because not seeing them definitely makes it feel more like you're seeing an actual event rather than a game. And adds extra tension. :) Aaaahhh I'm only 25 minutes into the 90 but I'm invested. With this lineup of talen though, I'd expect nothing less!
Just heard about this thanks to an old Dice Tower podcast (I'm about a year behind) from Crystal. Really want to give this a go. I'm going to have to find the right group, because otherwise it might go flat. Glad to see there's expansion content coming, because it looks like you could definitely mix things up with new roles, locations, etc. Also curious if this system could be used with other content. Either keeping with the text theme or making the conversation on some type of communicator device, like maybe in space?
Unrelated... when they got to the line of Chuck Norris animations punching almost in unison I had a hard time til they scrolled past partly because the repeating image kind of like flashing was making it hard to focus on anything else, but mainly because all I could think of was Chuck Norris saving Alice jokes.
hello there, is this application for displaying card avaible with the game ? is there's a link to use it ? I'm gonna grab the French version coming soon in europe, but wonder how to best manage this game for a group of 4 to 5...
We are 5 guys wanting to play AIM. Any recommendations if we should switch Julia and Dakotas gender and make them male for a more immersive feel? Especially regarding the voicemails? Or is it crucial to have Julia and Dakota as women take part?
@@jeniferjoseph9200 We're just trying to play the game as intended and don't want to mess it up since it's a one time only experience. We were just asking.
@@dieJozvajs i know i'm way late but play in a way that best suites you. the more comfortable you are playing, the better experience you'll have. the characters gender only matters as much as you let it matter :) (idk if this helps but i'm saying this as a lesbian lol)
The characters (names) and locations are the same, albeit shuffled, but there are three different clue cards for each time interval during the game & only one is chosen. The cards don't determine the way the game plays or where it goes so much as they form a framework for the players to do those things though, so it's far from being the same game every time. The expansion will also add some more.
@@nightcatarts Speaking of the expansion, I haven't seen anything new about the game in a while. Have you heard if and when the expansion will be released?
What if a character uses AAC at least some of the time? Would they allowed to be in the same place as other characters then, since verbal speech wouldn't be possible for at least one character and the other might use text out of empathy/mirroring?
Good idea one of the visually impaired actors I was in a couple productions with showed me the board they used that translated to brail and it was amazing how much those can do. :) The point of the story is just that they have to only communicate by text... Unless I missed something in the rules I think that would be totally fine. As long as the other player who is "with you" doesn't start making up stuff that you did. Wait... I thought of a possible reason that might not be a good idea... if you got a card where you died or were injured or whatever it wouldn't make sense with the other person standing right there with you. Though I'm sure you can come up with a reason they missed it. :)
Am i the only one that noticed that for the entire intro about characters introducing Aki seemed a little bit like she didn't care about the personalities of the game characters? Only me?
The he/she/they/them really confused me in this game, perhaps having one character who swings another way is better than having two or three in a game of 5.

I played this game for a class this morning. Such intense stuff. I wanna see more of these and actually catch a stream when it happens!!

so good! I have a group and I'm looking forward to playing it. JB has the tech and layout down pat.
Thank you so much for this! It helped me better understand to run the game with my friends. And the players were excellent
Thanks so much for sharing this - I wish there was more ❤🔥
I'm dying. This was so amazing!
This game is so fun and I enjoy it so much I can’t wait til the app comes out too!
This was so, so special ♥️

What happened to Jack's voicemail? It seems like there was space for it, but I didn't hear anything.
I know I'm years late to this, sorry.

Just act as women! Who cares lol if that’s the barrier you should just soar past it

Is the expansion available to purchase?
I got here too early. Players were missing. Plus show should have been called Becca is Missing!

This is awesome! Just picked up the game and playing our first session tomorrow. Where do you get the avatars of the characters for your phone?
