My lake is like this. Deep clear reservoir with tons of Cisco and low number of big pelagic walleyes. Can’t wait til I get ffs. Catch maybe 50 a season. I fish 130 days a year. 😂 Bobs Lake, South Frontenac, Ontario, Canada. Stop by…..bring your scope
great content as always, it really captures the highs and lows of pig hunting. be cool to see more of what to do in dog days of summer with forward facing
What a day!!! 🔥🔥. Felt your pain on the “biggest of your life walleye” when you lost it at the net… very unfortunate your rod broke at that moment! I can only imagine how much your heart was pumping and adrenaline going and having the shakes after that one! This vid gets me jacked up to chase walleyes some more tho lol, thanks for sharing! Also, love reading your Target Walleye info man 👍🏼. I fish the Brainerd Lakes to Aitkin Area a lot.
@@TargetWalleye you’re welcome! Definitely informative info you have in those! Have learned a lot from yours and Nick’s content on walleyes. Summer has been great, thanks! Hopefully we can catch a PB before it’s over 🎣. Good luck!
Man my jigging rap go to rod is a Berkeley cherry wood medium heavy. $30 cheapest can be and I'm telling you it is damn near unbreakable. I imagine an ugly stick would be a good j rap Rod as well. For that approach I think cheaper is better
I broke a scheels rod the same way last month. They had one waiting for me and replaced the same day. $it happens, right? I’ve had a lot of lookers and follows but the last couple weeks been sucking here. Great show! Keep em coming
Im glad to know im not the only one that has terrible luck in losing bigs. I can realistically get out every 10-12 days and tried a similar type of lake. The day sucked to start with high blue skies and blistering heat. Tight lips all day with barely any follows. Threw the whole kitchen sink at them. Caught a few small ones then marked a pair of gigantos toward the end of the outing. Hooked the first one, awesome fight, got up to the boat and saw it (27-28 probably) and my net got caught on a seat and the fish shook off the hook. Immediately casted out to the other fish which looked bigger. I work it for a bit and it finally hits. Set the hook and my knot breaks. Almost certainly was going to be my PB. I just set my rod down gently and called it a day. Seeing the end of this video does make me feel bad for you but is almost therapy to me knowing I am not alone.
Brutal! But definitely the type of stuff that happens to everyone. Most "TH-camrs" just only show the highlights of the day and not the struggle tho. Glad I could provide a little therapy hahaha! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. 👊
Oooo my … I could imagine I can’t with the rod snap off battle it literally into the net for it to come off HOW do they always find a way to get away I thought you had it for sure smh insane man
Thank you! Yes, that LiveScope transducer is on my trolling motor so that I can try my best to keep the fish on the screen for recording while still having both hands free to fish.
I added a link in the video's description. I believe it's only MN right now, but I do know they're actively working on adding more data from other states in the near future.
Hahahaha but that's for sure a fun way to catch 'em too! I'm always rotating thru different baits. Even when I know one thing is working, it's fun to see what else they will or will not eat. Thanks for watching!
Sorry I can't remember the brand off hand because I bought a few different tungsten ones to try. I think it was maybe a Queen's Tackle. For sure was a 3/16-oz size as that's the best all-around weight I've found for the Mooch Minnow where you can still fish it aggressively or just do subtle little pops
Honestly I’m tired of the sharpshooting with livescope vids. It’s just not in my future due to the cost of the setup. I mostly watch for the sake of learning new techniques to help me catch and this isn’t one I’ll be able to use.
Definitely understandable! Even if you don't have it, want it, or use it...you can for sure learn a ton about fish behavior and movements from watching videos that incorporate it. But yes this day was a different kind of fishing, was on a special "go big or go home" mission. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave feedback. Btw I will be having some videos/bites coming where FFS is not necessary.
These videos kind of make me want it more. I’ve been trying to hone my skills with what I have, which is 2D sonar and side imaging, but I’ve been saving up for livescope and I’m about half way there right now. Hopefully by the fall I’ll have it.
It happens. And to be fair I beat the absolute snot out of my gear every day. I've had that specific rod for 4 seasons and am not very nice to it hahaha.
I hear ya! But also there wasn't a single jig/crawler catch in this video.... Caught 3 on the Mooch Minnow, 2 on a Jigging Rap, and 2 on a slip-bobber. 👍

I liked it a lot. Brett. Those are some great walleyes you caught. I enjoyed watching and learning. Thanks!
👍🎣🇺🇸

Great video. I realize the grind involved with making a video like this one. But I enjoy that more than one where you catch a bunch of smaller fish
Awesome, thank you for the feedback! And pumped you enjoyed it. 👊
Beautiful fish, Brett! Another great video....really enjoyed!
Thanks for coming along for the ride!
The scope over the video like that is awesome
Really good video and day out there!! Sorry to hear about losing that big one!! Impressed just getting it to the net after all that!!
Nice video Brett, becoming one of my favorite to watch. I don’t have ffs but still learn a lot about different techniques to add to the arsenal.
Walleyes before work makes a man jealous to get on the water. Tight lines and happy trails friends
I hear ya! Productivity is low when daydreaming about getting back out lol. Thanks for watching
Great video. One of my favorite TH-cam fisherman.
Thanks so much!
Good stuff!! Gotta love the rod snap!
You got that right!
Great video Brett! Some banger eyes! 😎
Appreciate it!
Great tips as always !!
What an INCREDIBLE day! Those tour level gold guys could learn a thing or two from you bud 🎉
😂👊
Super cool video! Epic day!
That was awesome! Too bad that last one didn’t end up in the boat….loved the video. Thank you for the training!
Thanks Charlie! Pumped to hear you enjoyed the big-fish mission.
Great video. Way to grind them out.

I fish the Brainerd Lakes to Aitkin Area a lot.
Thanks Jeremy! And pumped to hear you're enjoying the Target Walleye emails! 👊 Hope the summer has been treating you well.

Just like you described, there is a lake like this in Indiana. I frequent there for a reason.
Nice! Super fun to switch it up, and gotta love having a shot at catching a giant. It's more like muskie fishing, but worth it when things line up.

Hey Brett, we love your videos! If you ever make it out on the St. Croix River, we are here for ya man! Would love to Target Walleye with you 😃
Thanks much! Rivers = one thing I'd love to fish more. Just don't have much experience on 'em from where I live in Brainerd.
Amazing day ❤❤❤ I feel like this weekend I will get more fish 😂😂😂
Thank you, and good luck this weekend! Hope you stick 'em.
Just another of Life's Hardships. You win some, you lose some. Sorry about your loss of that GIANT!
It happens! But definitely wish it didn't hahaha. Thanks man!
Nice fish
Thanks 👍

It happens, that was just the worst possible timing lol. Thanks for watching, man!
hey brett which jig head do you like to use with the mooch minnow,, great video
Nice job
Thanks Gerald!
great video Brett. A few years ago you did a video praising the new Rapala Shadow Rap but haven't heard word about them since, What's up with that

I lost the big one today too. It's always the one that didn't make it in the boat that I think about the most.
No doubt! Gotta use it to light a fire under you to get back after 'em tho haha!

Nice
Nice day! Is your panoptics on the trolling motor or a mount? Your settings are dialed!
Thank you! Yes, that LiveScope transducer is on my trolling motor so that I can try my best to keep the fish on the screen for recording while still having both hands free to fish.
Have you used that Berkeley finisher number 9 they are good for walleye also
They work great!
@@TargetWalleye okay thanks
@@TargetWalleye I bought me 5 of them haven't used them yet
What reel do you like using?
Heartbreaker losing that one at the end😢
Been awhile since I felt that amount of DEFEAT lol. I'll be back sometime looking for her to get some revenge 👊 thanks for watching!
@@TargetWalleye you got it. Get payback 😉
Have you ever went to lake Shamineau in Motly Minnesota
Great lake. Bunch of good water in that area that gets overlooked since everyone seems to go to Brainerd, Detroit Lakes or Alexandria instead.
Leech or crawler on slip bobber?
Leech 👍
I looked all over for onx fish can you drop the link to what you are using. Thanks
I added a link in the video's description. I believe it's only MN right now, but I do know they're actively working on adding more data from other states in the near future.

What jig is that on the moonch minnow

Not a great look for 2b rods
It happens. And to be fair I beat the absolute snot out of my gear every day. I've had that specific rod for 4 seasons and am not very nice to it hahaha.
I've blown up quite a few of those rods. Going to try Trika.

Livescope and jig and a crawler is soooooo played out and boring every dam channel now. Throw like 6" cisco on a big ass hook or something
I hear ya! But also there wasn't a single jig/crawler catch in this video.... Caught 3 on the Mooch Minnow, 2 on a Jigging Rap, and 2 on a slip-bobber. 👍
