No kidding.. Visited greece 3 weeks ago and they literally offered us alcohol for free at every resturant we went to after the meal. No complaining here.

Εγώ πάντως σίγουρα. Πάντοτε θα έρχομαι ξανά και ξανά εδώ. Για να θυμάμαι το καλύτερο και πιο θρυλικό τραγούδι που έχουμε στείλει στη Γιουροβίζιον. Και έχεις απόλυτο δίκιο. Αυτά ακριβώς είναι τα τραγούδια που χρειάζεται οπωσδήποτε να ξανακατεβάσουμε . Και τότε ποιός ξέρει, ίσως και να ξανακερδίσουμε όπως πιστεύω πως θα άξιζε να συμβεί με αυτό. Αρκεί απλώς βέβαια να ξυπνήσουμε και να το συνειδητοποιήσουμε . Μακάρι τι να το πω. Το φετινό τραγούδι εν μέρει κινούνταν στο ίδιο μήκος κύματος ως προς την εικόνα που ήθελε να προβάλλει, ως προς την αισθητική του ήχου όμως, όντως πιστεύω ότι μπορούμε να δουλέψουμε για κάτι καλύτερο. Και αυτό το καλύτερο είναι αριστουργήματα σαν και ΑΥΤΟ !

It's actually a play with words. In 2013, Greece was having big economic issues. In greek, we have the phrase "θα πάρω καράβι και θα φύγω." It directly directs to "I'll take a ship and leave." but, we use it as a way to say "this sucks, i want to leave." So basically, they're saying they're having a hard take and want to go to Grevena, which was not hit by the economic problem as badly as major cities and islands. Hope that helped:)

Maxime T it's not free but we have this thing, that if you order quite a few drinks in a bar, you will at some point get shots for free and it will be on the house. As a way of saying "thank you" for getting wasted here and spending your money in this bar. There's also special occasions (like birthdays, promotions etc) were we go out and treat each other with shots or drinks and get wasted, so you could say that this song can be about that, but by all means alcohol is not completely free 😂😂

I absolutely adore the fact that they just had fun while one stage. They didn't try to be fancy they were just energetic and crazy (for all the non greek speakers I am focusing on the lyrics we talk loud like that all day) and funny (again lyrics) and that's how we are in our everyday life. We just wanna have a good time and this is what they song is all about. I love it's energy

+nadin1898 That song is not rebetiko. This kind of music is ska balkan. Agathon though, the singer with the big mustache is a rebetico singer. If you search for his name you will find something. Also try : Βαμβακάρης , Περπινιάδης , Σωτηρία Μπέλλου , Γιωργος Μπάτης .

Came here to rewatch one of my favorite Eurovision moments, only to read that Agathonas is no longer with us :( I hope he passed knowing that he brought a lot of joy to a lot of random people. I loved this song for being sung in Greek first and foremost, and for how lively and original it was, while still being simple and authentic. φαινοταν απο τα προσωπα των Κοζα Μοστρα. Οτι το διασκεδασαν και καναν σαν παιδια (με καλη ενοια παντα). Το τραγουδι και σκηνικο ειχε ζωη. Με συγκριση ολα τα αλλα χαλια που εχει η στειλει η Ελλαδα, καλα πηγε και πηρε υψηλη θεση

Saw Agathonas at Thessaloniki Airport last year, he must have seen me staring at him because he gave me a big friendly grin and made my day. I was so sad to hear of his passing. RIP Agathonas ❤

I've been a ESC watcher from a very young age, and after all these years I have to say this is my favourite song from ESC. Almost all Greek entries are just amazing
