Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has connected to this film. I've always wanted to make a Christmas film and for years I've never really had the time or the right idea.
But I've been blown away by the impact this film has had on people and have had so many people reach out and share their own personal stories, some of joy and some of pain. Christmas is an amazing time of year, but for so many it can be so difficult.
I'm aware that with the power of film we can craft our own endings and shape our stories in a way that isn't always possible in real life. But I hope that this film encourages people, allows some to hold on to hope, can show the power of love and can inspire some to take a step of faith regardless of what the outcome may be. Sometimes life can take unexpected turns, for the worse or for the better. I pray for everyone that is having a tough time this Christmas season that they may have an unexpected moment of joy in the New Year, never lose hope and for those of us who are lucky enough to have a close family around us, may we never take it for granted.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas this year and a Happy New Year x
    Dan

Hand written letters truly carry the love of the writer. It is felt in the script of the hand. Every letter is like a gift received in one's mailbox.
The words spoken don't fly away as they do once the phone is hung up, they are forever there unchanged on a piece of paper.
Keep writing and sending love that can be read over and over again.

I haven't seen or heard from my eldest daughter in over 6 years......I have no idea why....the last time we saw each other our whole family said goodbye with hugs and kisses and promises to get together for dinner. And then nothing...........It breaks my heart!!!! This video is so important !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just saw this for the 1st time.. and now I'm a slobbering mess. I'm 71, and because of my job.. forced overtime and "we need you to come in on your day off", kept me away from so many things I should've done with my kids. But with bills and a lazy, greedy (now ex-wife !) , I had to keep going. Happy Holidays to all

I wish I had family left to write to....they all died, and my husband and I are alone. We stopped celebrating Christmas after our only child was killed. We attended my sisters celebrations, but then one year she cancelled Christmas because of a fight she had with her child, and that killed the last of our Christmas spirit. So very sad really.

You only need one person to Celebrate Christmas with, and you have your husband so please enjoy Christmas you two. Hope you have many more Christmas’s together.

I'm so sorry for all the losses you've experienced and survived. I feel your sorrow.
Now it is time to find some very small, quiet, comforting way to have Christmas. Find Christmas within yourself.
And it doesn't have to -- probably shouldn't-- look anything like Christmas as you once knew and loved it.
Create a new Christmas for yourself and your husband.
Small and quiet is always good. Probably better and more healing when you make it your own way, and find it within yourself.
Sort of like lighting a single candle or two on a cold dark early morning. Welcoming in the sun with the candlelight, even if it's behind clouds and weather, knowing it's still there.
I do this, especially in Nov/Dec, but at odd times throughout the year. I find it comforting, and healing.
The sun, even when it's obscured by clouds and dank weather, it is still there, and you can know that.
And Christmas, it's is still deep inside you, and now you can bring that out into your external world, any way you wish to, even just with one small candle, and bask in the warmth of the light and love that is inside of you.
There is no right or wrong way to create a holiday tradition. There is only your way.
Creating a new tradition, different from those you cherished and remember, doesn't disrespect or discount those you've lost along the way.
In actuality, it honors them greatly, because you are carrying on, and bringing that love and light they all had in you, outside of yourself into your room, your home, and celebrating that love.
      And THAT is Christmas.
Any day you choose to, in the way you choose to, that brings you comfort.
Never stop even the brief lest moment of Christmas. Never let that small ember that still exists within you die out.
Fan the ember into flame, no matter how small a flame it may be.
You, your inner love, and your husband, matter, and deserve even the smallest of light and comfort.
Light and love displaces even the darkest of night, and you deserve those kind of moments.
      ✌🏼❤️🕯️✨

It has been twenty years since our only child cut off his entire family. Reconciliation has been attempted. No response except for nasty remarks on FaceBook. This is a beautiful video, but it has not been the experience of me and many other elderly parents.

You could find some new friends or young people that need a bit of help, many people would love some help at Christmas and other times...
