I added all of the books you mentioned to my tbr.
Currently, I'm reading Atonement by Ian McEwan. How wonderfully it's written! Each and every emotion of every character in the book is so intricately expressed.

Reading my last book by Kazuo Ishiguro, 'The Unconsoled.' It's his biggest one (500+ pages) and while it's supposed to be a psychological thriller, it's filled with his style: lots of dialogue, lots of words. Definitely a book I'll be taking my time with!

I read "fen" by daisy johnson recently and absolutely loved it and ordered "everything under" immediately. hope to get to "sisters" soon as well. also your background is STUNNING, I kept looking at the books behind you hahah. looking forward to seeing what you come up with in the future of this channel

I had actually totally forgotten about fen - an excellent collection, although I feel in 'sisters' her writing (particularly horror) has come a long way; a lot more consistent and not as self conscious, maybe.
thank you so much, it's funny that. we love the book stacks too, even though the proper thing to do would be to buy more shelves, we like it like this. I will have to try and keep changing it up so you have something to look at though 🤠

I love this!! I love when Don D said Klara's voice had a slight rasp and a kind of wobble, the loose liquid texture of something sliding side to side. I was like omg.

that's what I love about dd - one liners that make you stop reading just to process them, so good

Loving the content! Currently, I am immersed in Morrison's The Bluest Eye (liking it even more than Beloved), and enjoying the last few chapters of Kwame Anthony Appiah's The Lies That Bind. After your review, I am sure Real Life will follow.

haha I didn't spoil the central moment of the text so hopefully you will still get a lot from it - it really is good, I hope you give it a go. it was a very creamy-dream setup this time wasn't it aha

can i just say, your speaking in front of the camera has gotten miles better in comparison with your first video, whether it is due to editing or not: good work! it's such a difficult thing to do so i commend you for it!
i'm currently reading neon yang's Tensorate series, which is very interesting since it's written in gender-neutral language. I picked it up in its spanish translation because gender-neutral language is not natural to us and we have had to make up an artificial formula that takes a bit of practice to include into one's speaking patterns, so i thought reading the series would be a great way of incorporating its usage into my thoughts so i can use spanish gender-neutral pronouns the right way if I'm ever asked to do so.
the world yang presents is so interesting and rich, i hadn't read any asian fantasy/sci-fiction and i'm very glad this was my introduction to it, i'm now looking forward to find out more!

that is so nice of you, thank you - I am working really hard to make the videos as good as I can 🥰 hopefully the next one will be even better!
I like the sound of a gender-neutral novel, I think that would work really well in english because objects are already neutral... I wonder if anyone has translated tensorate 🤔 keep me posted on how it goes with yang's work!
