- transiting a steel-grated bridge on a motorcycle can create anxiety for riders who have little experience with bridge grating. Probably the worst thought is the feeling of a cheese grater action. Well that fortunately is not reality.

Great video. Always good information to hear. The best thing I ever learned about this, is to just relax. Relax your grip. Relax your shoulder, back, and gluts. The bike will “walk” a bit, as it tracks along the gratings, but will go in the direction that you steer. Always look to where you want to go, which means, you won’t be looking down. Cross winds? Often tricky, but like the narrator, I have never been blown out of my lane. Good stuff on this channel. Thanks for the content! Ride safe!
Thanks for the video! I just experienced this for the first time riding over the Hawthorne Bridge today - I slowed down and got through it but it was pretty scary because of how squirrely my front wheel felt. I'm glad I wasn't being tailgated!
That’s why it is so helpful to start riding dirt bikes before street bikes because some of that instability fear is lessened.
I crossed that sucker one rainy windy day last fall… I didn’t look down!!
