Wonder if there's any tips on what to do about that. Maybe an electrician can wire an outlet inside the fireplace area so that you don't have to visibly stick out the plug.

@@marylaereman4981 that makes sense for safety, but that's for the panel. So did/will the electrician wire a dedicated outlet inside the fireplace that connects to the electrical panel?

Just put in a full electric insert that old frame takes but a few minutes to remove and have a clean unit that blows the heat in the room of you choose to run the heat. Besides the 3d models today are far better attractive to watch.

The insturction manual and pictures are terrible. Each log should be marked or numbered for each connector. Hopefully, the online promo picture will be helpful. I called the help line and was told to leave a message. Not impressed. Hopefully, I wil like it once it is set up

You know more houses burn down in the winter time due to electric heaters then fire places right? Just making sure you know this because you claimed there would be NO chance of a house fire due to there being no open flame.
Space heaters are the cause of fires. Not electric inserts.
There is a difference between a electric space heater and a electric fireplace insert. It's the space heater that people miss use and start a fire.

It's only stupid if you are dumb enough to not close the flu before you install it.
CardiacCat flu is not air-tight; most of the heat gets out. heat wants to go up and goes up even if it finds a pee-hole

You have no clue how a Electric Log Insert Works & Operates. There is a operating fan that blows the heat outwards from the front of the unit into the room. NO HEAT IS GOING THROUGH THE CLOSED FLUE. EVEN IF YOU SEALED THE FLUE FLAP SEEM WITH DUCK TAPE, HAVE NO FIRE TO BURN THE TAPE OFF AS IT IS USED TO STOP ANY MINOR DRAFT GOING UP THE LEAKING FLUE FLAP. Now you must be Yugoslavian because you cannot grasp the concept of how a electric fireplace log works.
