  • One day in Seattle we discovered a business whose employees were so passionate about their work that people came from around the world just to experience their amazing energy. It was the Pike Place Fish Market. We asked, “What if every organization had this positive energy and engagement?”
We decided to make a film about the fishmongers. Called FISH!, it has become the most-watched training video in the world. FISH! teaches four simple practices that will help anyone be more successful. We call these The FISH! Philosophy.
The FISH! Philosophy is a fresh, powerful training solution. It helps you create a culture where people choose to bring their best to work. The FISH! Philosophy empowers employees to be more effective in any job. Organizations use the FISH! Philosophy to improve teamwork, customer service, employee engagement, retention, recognition and leadership. We also offer a family of products that help K-12 schools build positive behavior and improve learning.
Call us at 800.695.4534 or visit us at www.fishphilosophy.com to learn about our FISH! Philosophy video training programs, speakers and workshops, books and other services.

I was 32 years old and recently hired by a large for-profit education company. On my first day at the corporate training they provided, I was introduced to this and it changed me for life. 17 years later I still have my Pete the Perch stuffed toy I was given and try to use this as motivation for others who I feel need a boost or challenged on why they are not happy with work or where they are at professionally.

Masters Home Improvement ran this for about a year, needless to say it failed miserably... Not due to the staff, but for the management and their inability to follow the FISH mentality.

We are sorry to hear about your experience. One of the foundations of The FISH! Philosophy is that leadership, especially, must live the FISH! practices in order for the culture to improve. Employees do a lot of “boss watching”. If the behavior of leaders is not consistent with what they ask of the people they lead, FISH! (or any culture-building program for that matter) is simply not going to work. When leadership make the commitment to Be There for their employees, choose their own attitudes, make it OK for people to have fun while they work and look for ways to make the day of their employees, trust and relationships can grow. (Because this is so important, we actually created a complementary program, called FISH! For Leaders, to help leaders sharpen these relationship-building skills.) Again, sorry about your experience. Thanks for letting us know.

Companies don’t care about employees now but the good thing is younger workers will walk out on an employer at the drop of a hat. No loyalty from employee to employer unless loyalty is given

Americans suffer from the peter pan syndrome, it is really, really hard for them to grow, you see 40 year old men, with cargo shorts and superman t shirts on, their "man caves" are more like the room of a teenager, with superhero posters and pinball machines, they love colourful, sugary cocktails with toys in them. They also need to come to the work place to "have fun" it is truly remarkable.
