- The Type 75 SPH is a Japanese Tank in War Thunder! Well, it's a Self Propelled Howitzer with a 155mm autoloading cannon!
Japanese Tanks in War Thunder are generally one of two things. Firstly, useless and at a battle rating too high OR they're super goofy but extremely fun to play! The Type 75 SPH really breaks this rule though. That's because it's Goofy AND Good!
The Proximity Fuse Shell works wonders on Aircraft. That means you have a High Explosive launcher with a 10 second reload that not only can deal with any vehicle in the game... it can also obliterate anything silly enough to come into your range with Proxy Fuse!
This Japanese Tank is EXCELLENT fun and I definitely suggest having it in your lineup somewhere! Fun AND effective!

Flak bus master race even tho it was designed for shooting at aircraft. I'd rather just swat them doon with the non-fuzed shell. The fact you can point your gun all the way vertical has saved me countless times against airplanes.
The armor is effective, if by effective you mean it prevents the crew from falling out of their seats.
In my opinion, The "armour" is mostly structural its 30mm because it's needed to handle the gun weight and the powerful recoil. The protection is a side-effect

The crew *is* the armor, I survived like 3 hits to the turret from a T-44 in it before because the dead crew kept eating the filler.
Whenever Odd or Phly makes a video about an interesting tank, im like "OMG Imma grind that nation" but after 2 games of low tier, Im like "Nah, Im bored"
Japan is actually quite fun to play and I spent most of my time with USSR and Germany :D
Just use the crazy tanks that Japan has at 1.0 For example, the ho-ro 155mm can be played at 10.0 br and kills everything it hits as long as you use the HE shell
Yeah they have 10 years+ of grinding and get free golden eagles to skip grinds (i know odd doesn't do that often but pretty sure phly does). Plus getting trial vehicles etc

Im a USSR and Germany type of player. Im researching the Tiger 2 and the T-34-85 (D5-T). Yeah the Ho Ro is like the Strumpanzer but weirderer.
Type 75 is really good, along with the whole Japan 6.3 lineup.
I mean yes and no, the 90mm heat at 6.3 is very strong but the rest of the st-a1/2 are miserable

I found 6.7 more enjoyable, but its been a while, and I'd heard the kikka was moved to 7.0 which fuckin blows

Don’t give up brother, there’s tricks you can learn. If you feel you haven’t gotten any better on your own, study the videos and there is probably tips and trick videos you can watch as well. I got better by watching others play.

I used to be decent, but with updates I get worse.
More and more people covered head to toe in bushes ("cosmetic", yea right.), more and more people riding their wallets harder than a dumb teenager trying to get good grades, the match making getting more hostile (i.e, maybe 1 in every 50 matches isnt a max uptier), Gaijin server desync getting 100x worse in the last year or so, the rewards for doing good being cut in less than half, ect. game is genuinely shit and highly predatory. But there are no real competators and I like WW2.
Sands of sinai is one of my favourite maps to play type 75 sph on. 1km+ shots with that thing feels awesome
Basically every long range map suits me well with Japanese tanks (except maybe the Ho-Ri)
I absolutely love the type-75, It's my most used and highest kill tank. So happy we got a video for it.

I like to occasionally play this tank and I wish they give the US it's M109 Paladin and the UK it's AS90.

I gotta say, these shorter, trailer-like intros are the best I've seen so far off of you and they capture the attention nicely. The pacing of the footage matching the music is really nice. I enjoyed the older style intros too, where there might be like 5 minutes of shots and gameplay in the intro alone, so you kinda felt like you've already watched the whole video like a TLDR even before it actually begun, so these are way better. Excellent job!

The type75 is the pride and joy of the Japanese tech tree and is my favorite vehicle in game it's nice seeing it get some well deserved love

I'm loving the BKAN in the Swedish tree a lot. You also get that air burst shell, but you also get 3.2 second reload, yeah the gun depression sucks but when it works... oh man it works.

The Type 75 SPH is a genuine meme machine, and I love it so much. It never gets old watching people go boom after you lob a shell at them from far away.

It’s my favorite vehicle in the Japan line. I like to call it “The Great Equalizer”. Because at it’s tier, it genuinely doesn’t give a damn about your armor.
It's so much better as a long range because it gives the shells time to arc which means you're going to get a top down shot. I absolutely love Japan in this game because I feel like they're great at every tear but specifically 6.7 this thing slaps so hard and there's something so satisfying about shooting down planes with it.
Always wanted to play this I recently got rid of my rig and now rebuilding a whole new one soon I’ll be grinding out Japan again 👌🏼
Shot one of these point-blank 4 times yesterday while out in my Panther A. 3 of those straight into the side of the crew compartment and it still didn't die. The crew is better effective armor than the armor itself
The armor on Type 75 is so thin that your APHE fuse probably doesn't go off, "no armor, best armor"

I really wish there was a way to use SPG's for indirect fire. Something tied to the map arty feature would be fine.
Maybe you could select spots on the map that were marked with artillery and hit a button and the game would turn you towards it and set the correct elevation to hit it. So any arty pieces on the map could bombard spots marked by call artillery abilities.
If you have a laser range finder or someone spotting with a laser range finder that can scout it would be possible, and with a short barrel howitzer you could possibly shoot over terrain. An actual playable artillery would be nice like Wot however with the size of maps and the how hard it would be to hit( if you did it could likely be the top of a tank which would confirm a kill and since HE doesn't care about angles it could be fun). Maybe a automatic aiming could work on spotted targets since the game intentionally makes the spot be in the general area of the tank it could be accurate to actual artillery accuracy.

I think a way to use arty like arty could be amazing, especially mixed in with scout tanks and aircraft spotting.
lmao this is not WoT, our shells have actual physics and you cant make the shell fall like a stupid rock just because its an artillery, if you shot at a high angle like WoT you would yeet the shell out of the map
world of tanks has fortnite physics and its stupid, warthunder is loyal to reality, even if it has bugs because its a script and a script is very difficult to make it perfect

This thing reminds me a lot of the rusky 2S3M. Both seem to play similarly and bea barrel of fun.
I feel like the 2S3M is better. It has a longer reload but a way faster chassis, you can compete with M18s with this thing spaded. And it has proxy fuze shells too. That's my favourite tank in the game rn. And the shells look like they are easier to aim, even tho it might be because the scopes on the Type 75 are more powerful.

When I get this vehicle, I will just use the proximity fuze shell because it has the same penetration, but you dont have to hit it directly, and you dont waste time waiting for the reload to finish to kill a plane.
There needs to be volumetric shell whistle, I wouldn't be made if I got killed by this thing and there's a loud whirring sound as the shell Flys towards me.

Something for you to try if you fancy a bit more derp with the Type 75. If they're front on with decent armour aim for the floor beneath their tracks. I've killed a few that way. Belly armour sucks, they're like dragons. ;-)

If you’re going for a video every day, can I suggest the Tiny Tim rockets? They do a great job at killing ships in naval, which is what they were designed for.
