  • Just noodling around with Deforum again, another weird moment and a couple of new tricks I've picked up this week. 4K resolution this time as well. Enjoy!
    By the way, seeing as we are in 4k with this, see that cog settings thing at the foot of the video? Click that and choose 4K, may as well watch it in brain melting resolution, you deserve it !

      I will be planning 'Flow 2' soon in a new style deforum animation style. I think flow is quite soothing to watch, ok there are some un-nerving bits but I could have gone on with Flow for a lot longer, and maybe I could have run it at a slower speed to take in some of the transitions but it was just a spur of the moment thing with how I was feeling on the day I made it. A lot of these animations reflect my mood on that particular day and are fleeting moments. The day after making it I probably was in a different mood and made something completely left field, lol

      I'm a big fan of artist Laurie Lipton (you should check out her art) I tried to get as close as I could to her style. Part of my job in the real world is getting into the mindsets of true psychopaths and sociopaths. Flow inspired me by both of those worlds. Even in the darkest places of the human mind there are islands of stability where, if they could be tapped, would produce stunning revelations. There is a fine line between genius and madness. everyone I have met in my line of work strays between the two (which is the road to chaos) I have yet to meet anyone who walks the tightrope between without deviation

      I keep going back to this vid, it just has something about it that pulls you in. I think the constant scene changes help it along as you don't know what is coming next. I also love doing the sound for stuff like this as its so ambient and minimal

      Strange isn't it? I love this video, I was thinking of a 'Flow 2' sequel but couldn't think of a subject, although flow didn't have a subject and I kept changing the scenes as I was going through it, so maybe random is better

      Weird isn't it. The interesting thing for me is the way Deforum handles animation, If I did this animation again using the same wording and instructions try as I might it will always give a wildly different animation on the same theme in the same style. Every animation here is unique and cannot be copied exactly. I just love this chaotic aspect

      I love 'Bloom' no idea what was in my head that day. I have a strange system, I won't even start an animation until I get some inspiration, sometimes at 3am in the morning I'll just get a flash and need to start work on something immediately and will be like a dog with a bone until its finished. Other times I start something and abandon it because A.I hasn't caught up with the idea in my head. this one (Bloom) was a 3am thing, kinda half asleep weird idea in my head

    Gotta wonder what typical life experiences were way back when artists drew various forms of decay of the human body that has endured as an art form to this day. Were cemeteries more like open landfills? Probably best off not knowing but something very real gave birth to depictions of decaying human remains.

    • @francolli

      What's really interesting is that Deforum takes its reference from something called large language models, it creates its weird imagery from images and combinations of images it finds from the models. The models are based on images in existence across the internet and wider areas. All of the images that made up this animation exist somewhere in the real world right now. Its a strange place out there

    • @skystraveler2036

      You don't know how accurately close you are referencing an open landfill!. In biblical times if you were a good person that passed away you were given a decent burial. if you were a criminal, thief, rapist, murderer. anyone that was executed they just tossed your corps into the burning landfill out side the eastern gates of Jerusalem in reference to Hell being a "Firey Pit"

    Am I right in thinking this video was removed from TH-cam just after it was uploaded?

    • @francolli
      @francolli  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yep, that was me, I uploaded it then realized it wasn't high enough resolution. I ran it through Topaz upscaler and increased the resolution to 4K, 3840 x 2160 and upped the frame rate to 60fps. That takes 90 minutes to upload to TH-cam due to the insane size and quality. I wanted it 200fps or over but I think you tube would have melted down, lol. I have a version at 500 frames per second on my hard drive but its around 2.5gb for 6 minutes. You tube said no even though my brain said yes
