A million memories. I read a lot of sparkling praise about Banshee when I was 13 and this came out. I loved the video and went out and bought it on cassette (remember them!?). Hearing it now I love this even more he has a great voice and it's a fantastic hard rock song. I miss this era. Now I only listen to independent bands and small label bands because ever since the 90s the mainstream has been nothing but shite! We need to shoot down the industry!

❤✌🏽👽👍The drummer (Kent Burnham)is my favorite drum teacher- he’s an awesome musician & teacher & so good looking-great person too-❤
It’s too bad his band didn’t get out of Kansas into the big time as they deserved -
they were the most talented biggest fish in the small world lake of KCMO local music scene where I met them.
As we became friends my life was forever changed for the better.
Thanks Kent for turning me on to Queensryche Operation Mind Crime it broadened my musical & lyrical horizons & I still consider them one of my favorite bands.

Banshee is an early melodic power metal band that was formed in the 1985 in the American Midwest. Although sharing image and sound with the glam/metal scene of the 80's, their music also diverged from the genre, sharing more in common with power metal featuring guitar solo prominence via lead work by guitarist Terry Dunn

One of the coolest videos ever. This was, and is one of my favorite videos of all time. I just love the quality of the video...and the references to the "Wizard of Oz," and of course Dorothy... Its to bad the actress in the video didn't get noticed for her part in this video--she is gorgeous. The only other videos that comes to mind for a similar style is: "Whitesnake: still of the night," "Cinderella: Nobody's fool," "Masi: God promised a paradise," White Wolf: She," "Hurricane:I'm on to you."

Thanks for the response on this video. It drives me nuts that "Banshee," was destroyed by jealousy and envy...perhaps paranoia. "Banshee," was one of the best groups...ah I wish they hadn't left "Metal Blade," records for "Atlantic," records. The executives of the big labels wiped out progressive, and melodic metal. Its not Tommys fault, or the actress who played Dorothy either. In my opinion women aren't property, so if the exec feared she was seeing someone else then he should have let her go.

Where is Tommy now & how is he? Still singing?

How does the bassist get that sound around 1:58? He does that in a couple of other songs too.

must've been about 89, riding the the Whitesnake, Skid Row, Blue Murder wave

    • @zmbdog
      @zmbdog 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Despite the players involved, Blue Murder was no more significant than Banshee, Baton Rouge, Junkyard, etc.
Kinda like saying "that Motley Crue, Poison, Pretty Boy Floyd wave".

It seemed a mix to me. One song reminded me of Motley Crue. Different styles.
