- The 9 pm Christmas Eve worship (December 24, 2024) is based on Luke 2:1-20. The Rev. Sandra Carlson Alexis preached and officiated. The reader was Paul Christensen; the deacons were Paul Christensen and Lara Alexis; the communion helper was Anna T.; the crucifers were Ryan B and Zoe Bassett; the ushers were Chris and Laurel Bassett. The Psalm was Psalm 96:6-13. The songs included “O, Come, All Ye Faithful,” “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” “Silent Night,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” with Zoe Bassett and Tim Smith on trumpet. The offering song was “Awake and Join the Cheerful Choir” (traditional carol) by First English Choir with Matt Musachio on violin. Communion Music included “Away in a Manger (traditional carol) by Leah Inger, soloist and “Cantique de Noel” (Adolphe Adam, arr. Herman) by Matt Musachio, violin. The postlude was “Joy to the World” (traditional) with Zoe Bassett and Tim Smith on trumpet. Christmas lyrics for some of the service music by Rev. David Eck.
Music is led by our Organist/Choirmaster Minister of Music Joann Moorer with our First English Choir which includes Stasia Edmonston, Leah Inger, Chet Myers, Jorge Ramirez-Sanchez, Dorothy Stalberg, Tim Smith, Mairin Srygley, and Norah Worthington. The First English Handbell Choir includes Laurel Bassett, Zoe Bassett, Ryan Bassett, Paul Christensen, Dorothy Stalberg, Teal Anderson, Anna Treskon, and Patti Stude.
