Awesome review. Loved Valfaris. Gave it a 9 in my review. One of the better modern side scrolling action games to come out in years. This looks like an interesting change up. I purchased it just on the name alone. Looking forward to checking it out.
I loved Valfaris and I'm a huge Shmup fan but I'm still going to wait for a Steam sale first.. on my wishlist immediately though. Thanks for the great review.
What? It’s out? I barely completed Valfaris with all my hair still on my head. What an experience! Now I want to go back and play it. It was up there with the greatest 16/32 bit games of all time. Great review. Can’t wait to get my hands on it. PS Bonus points for the Einhander reference.
@@IDreamofIndie Drop outta nowhere is definitely the understatement of the century. I just learned about this game a few days ago when apparently it’s been out for months. There were literally only 2 trailers for this game, which only had a couple thousand views so it was easy for them to slip past radars, mine included. It always sucks when small game companies don’t have budget for marketing since I absolutely loved the first game.
Loved Valfaris and Slain. Can’t wait for this one, but gonna just wait for the console version even though I own a gaming pc. Just have too many games on my backlog at the moment, but will definitely be checking this one out once it hits consoles sometime next year!
I loved Valfaris. This looks like a lot fun also. I have been looking forward to this title for a long time. But i think the price is a little high, for such a short title.
@@IDreamofIndie It's uber hard and the only way I could do one particular checkpoint in a level close to the end was jump around like crazy and avoid the enemies and not take any on. But most of it bar a few points, is difficult, but fair if that makes sense. Also looks gorgeous with a rocking soundtrack. Valfaris was a better game, no doubt, but Slain often goes for sale for a buck or two and it's worth that for sure.
Once you beat hard mode, you'll unlock true metal mode, which is just a one hit kill. Truly a challenge. Course, you can take advantage of your one HP state by equipping one of the modules that sacrifices one HP for extra energy, your HP remains unchanged and you'll get the benefit of an extra 400 unit of energy
I have to say I was a little disappointed when I purchased the sequel thinking I was going to get the same experience as the first game, only to realize the entire game is a shmup. Don't get me wrong, I'm an old school gamer and I love shmups, but I feel like they could have mixed platforming and the shmup style throughout the game. The first game is a masterpiece, whereas this feels slightly rushed, albeit very well done with beautiful graphics and tight gameplay. I just wish it was more like the original Valfaris. Hopefully in the third game they will return to their roots.
I played the demo and was morbidly disappointed. Not a fan of this genre though. I also think that they should have went another story, like the jump from Slain into Valfaris, instead of just doing a weird sequel to Valfaris. I'll get it when it goes on sale.
Valfaris was one of the most underrated games of all time
This sequel looks so good
It's great!
Wow! The first one is one of my all time favorite games. Can't wait to play this! I'm so excited right now!
It's so good!
Valfaris was really fun, been curious to see how this new direction goes.
Pretty great if you ask me!
@@IDreamofIndieYou said Einhander so I'm in, lol.

Oh wow I LOVED Slain and have Valfaris in my backlog. This is going to be on too!!!! Thanks for the heads up!!

Awesome! Hope you enjoy it whenever you pick it up I had a ton of fun.

It did kinda drop outta nowhere for sure!

I’m a full on elite metalhead so this game is for me.🤟
Great Review

I had the first one for 2-3yrs now I really didn't play it kinda frustrating but I'm into shumps I'll definitely get this
Sweet deal!!

That's completely fair! Hope you enjoy it whenever you grab the game.
I bought it :) Just replayd Valfaris to hype myself up to this - And thanks mate! @@IDreamofIndie
The Einhander drop didn't go unnoticed!
One of my favorites it is always awesome to hear from other fans!
@@IDreamofIndie maybe one day we will get a modern port!
excellent review as usual
Thank you for sharing a comment!
Day 1 for me on consoles. Creator is a really nice dude too
That's always nice to hear 😊
Bosses definitely darius inspired. looks fun.
Oh man, this gives me Einhander(PS1) vibes. I'm excited to play this
Haha yeah that's why I had to shout that game out
Valfaris was so freakin fun. The sequel looks very good too.
Indeed!
This sequel is not on PSN store yet. 😢
You'll probably enjoy SLAIN as well which was the one prior to Valfaris.
So I've heard! I have it in my library so if I ever get free time again I will be checking it out.

I passed on the first one, since I'm not great at Scrolling Shooters, but I might have to check this one out.
Thanks for watching as always!
What leaderboards? It does not even seem to have a score system.
The review said the game could have used leaderboards not that it has them.
7 seconds in.. I've seen enough. I'm buying this. Did you ever play Slain? By the same Dev.
I think I own it but still haven't played! Did play the original Valfaris though!
It's fun but super challenging!
WTF!! I didn't even know this was already out.

Hmmm a 3 to 4 hour game for $29.25 Canadian.
Love side scrolling arcade action but
this feels like wait for a deep sale
