Hi, On the same car, 1986 190e 2.3 w201, do you have video/instruction on how to trace the power to the starter. I have new battery, new alternator's regulator. When I turn the key, the dash lights comes on, I hear the fuel pump, but no crank! Thanks
Thanks for the hint. Is there any starter relay on these models? Since it's hard to replace the inhibitor switch, how do I test it's condition? Thanks@@MA-NYAN-garage
Removal of the transmission inhibitor switch was possible without removing the transmission. To be sure, remove the inhibitor switch and check for electricity between the terminals. Since you're going to remove it anyway, it's a good idea to replace it anyway. If this is completely broken, the backlight will not come on even if you put the gear in reverse. However, it is impossible to tell from the outside if the car is in parking mode. @@MA-NYAN-garage Hi, On 190e 2.3 no starter crank at all: - New battery - OVP relay is good - Ignition switch is good, _ transmission shifter inhibitor is good, - All lights behind dash comes on, - fuel pump comes on. So what's next to be checked out? Thanks
Now, remove the engine belt and try rotating the crankshaft pulley by hand. If the crankshaft pulley does not turn, the piston is stuck in the cylinder inside the engine.
Excellent video, Thank you

It could be a faulty transmission inhibitor switch.
Thanks for the hint.

How did you get the power steering pulley out? I can’t figure out how it’s stuck in there
It's probably rusted and stuck together. Did you try hitting it with a hammer?
