  • This is my massively improved take of another Beatles classic. Paul's vocals are so soothing, the chord progression and their harmonies is just next level perfection. This song has gotta be one of the most emotional, purest and greatest Beatles love song, and their vibe suits the title and lyrics so much...what a jewel.
I spend hours trying to learn the super simple lead guitar part by Harrison, in the original version the lead guitar sounds like a mix of a Gretsch Country Gentleman and a Rickenbacker 360/12, but definitely closer to the Gretsch so I thought I don't need to use my Mosaic pedal for this one.
The basic backing tracks for this song consisted of the four Beatles on their usual instruments; Lennon on acoustic rhythm guitar, Harrison on electric rhythm guitar, McCartney on bass and Starr on drums. They decided that take 3 was the perfect take.
The Beatles added three overdubs into take 3. These overdubs included Lennon on piano during the choruses, Starr playing tambourine during the bridges, and McCartney's double tracked vocals. John also overdubbed an open A hit on his acoustic guitar, which he strummed just the A string on his guitar 3 times that make up the iconic intro of the song and it occurs in various points of this song.
I tried my best to recreate and reproduce all of this, and to me it sounded pretty good.
Guitars, basses and piano recorded by me and drums + percussion by Ryohei Kanayama.
