At least you know what to expect from the stories people are coming out with because most of the time people think it’s just going to be fun all the time which is not true it’s hard. You can ask about your schedule, curfew, usage of car, kids discipline, overnight guest rules, more about what’s expected for you, religious views etc

It’s possible but you can’t au pair & be in school at the same time. But if we are talking about something else, doing assignments is possible when kids are not around it’s your free time anyway

@@hazel5105 to be honest with you, I didn’t get a student visa lol I don’t know what the process is nor do I have the knowledge so I can’t advice you on that. You can check out one of my other visas 4 ways on how to stay in the USA and that’s as much advice as I can give

Oh definitely! All alone in a foreign country and living with strangers? That’s a fear we all have. But also a fear you’ll have to face if you want to become an au pair. Being an Au pair is all about risk taking and praying for the best! 😅 you’ll get the hang of it a few weeks/months in though

Google saysMost au pairs are between 18 and 30 years old. But some countries have slightly different age requirements for au pairs. Therefore an au pair should always check the specific regulations for the host country before finalising arrangements for an au pair stay. it means a person from age 50 onwards if they apply, what are the rules by the host company?
Hey girl thank you for subscribing! My host family actually offered to pay for my application fee. It is NOT allowed by cultural care so she had to fight both American offices and South African offices for days until they gave in. Apparently I was the only Au Pair to have a family so this by the agency. However, I’m sure there’s other Au Pairs that have done that without the agency knowing. My host mom wanted to transfer directly to their account. But it is unlikely for a family to offer to pay I think. I haven’t heard of any other au pair say that
Honestly, it depends what a person likes. The states are very different & offer different things. I au paired in Delaware, Florida & Colorado. Loved Florida, but I know some people who don’t so I can’t really say 🤦🏾♀️
@@leloowhite you’re very confused. The “college” that they say you’re going to attend when you get to the United States is not a full time college where you go to school every single day. They only need 72 hours of school credit from you. That’s only 1 weekend. So the whole year you only go for just 1 weekend. Your host family is responsible for paying only $500 of if. If you chose a class that wanted $800 for example the other money you take it out yourself. But that’s why I said you don’t really go to school, it’s not what you think

Well you do get 2 years maximum as an Au pair. During Covid in country au pairs were given an extra 6 months because out of country au pairs couldn’t come in. That’s how I ended up with 2 years & 6 months

I just contacted someone working for cultural care and she says and I quote : “So, there are discounts for Au Pairs that go for a second time or have a degree in education, but none of the discounts will get them R7500 - The biggest discount will only get you to R12000 without the protection plans - so that is impossible for the Au Pair to have paid R7500, unless she is with a different agency”

You don’t need a certain amount of years. As long as you have a drivers license

@@omphemetseshaz8979 yeah and I know others that have been waiting for more than a year. Unfortunately because of Covid it takes longer. Families are just not recalling looking for out of country au pairs but in country au pairs due to travel bans that were imposed and they needed someone immediate. It just slowed everyone’s process down! But you could be lucky and find a family quicker than everyone else. But right now it’s tough for almost everyone
@@KaraboMareka Hey karabo. So update, I went with au pair in america & within 2 days I had 8 matches & matched within a week. I'm just waiting for my visa. It'll be a month tomorrow but anyway! I just want to say thank you for making this video. Because I started my process a day after watching this video.💗💗
