    How humid does North Carolina get in currently living in Louisiana and can’t wait to move somewhere with low or no humidity

    • @thegreenehome
      @thegreenehome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! Hmm so for Western NC, where we leave, I'd say is humid but it's NOTHING compared to Miami, FL (where we lived) and probably Louisiana. It's not super dry but the weather is great and definitely one of my favorite parts about living here ;) Hope that helps!

    Hi Folks, I'm one of your 262 subscribers. Great videos. Moving to Asheville or Hendersonville in June, or theresabouts. Coming from LA, CA and cannot wait to get to WNC. It was great seeing you Floridians out in the winter weather-- I guess it cannot be that bad. I'm getting everything up on the Cloud for running my law firm remotely. The pandemic has trained my clients in Zoom so I think I can do it. Thanks for the videos -- love the way you guys thinks and appreciate your sharing. Steve

      Hey Steve! First, CONGRATS on making the move! You will love it. We lived in Asheville for 6 months before settling in Bryson City 😊 the winters here aren’t that bad, even for native Floridians 😂 With covid, remote work has become ingrained into so many new industries it’s exciting what that means for freedom of location. Love that you’re making that leap. We wish you much success 🙌🏼🙌🏼 cheers! 🌄🍻

      The bar right by the orange peel in downtown Asheville is owned by a couple from LA. I know there’s a lot of folks from LA but might give you a little place to start. It’s a brewery and I can’t remember the name of it but good luck. Love Asheville, Bryson city Hendersonville all the towns. Down in Mississippi but we go to the mountains or Destin Florida every summer. Just got back from Bryson city and then to Dustin twice already so it’s obvious where our hearts are.

    Ty so much for this!!
    Obsessed with this area- looking to move/buy next summer. However I stream live for work… what’s the internet like there?

    • @thegreenehome
      @thegreenehome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course! So we both work remotely and have no issues (aside from the occasional interruption because that’s mountain life) but we have balsam west. Before you buy, we would ask or call them to see if they can service whatever home you are looking to buy.

    Thanks for your videos, you guys are very entertaining, articulate and pleasant to Listen too. Now before I speak " I would like to say something" In order to qualify myself I will tell you a little about myself. I currently live in Weaverville and yes formerly form Miami additionally I come from law enforcement and took advantage of early retirement. My reasons for moving to WNC are probably the same as yours, I'm a nature enthusiast and this is a beautiful place, also cost of living not only real estate but home and auto insurance, real estate taxes, however you have to factor in that NC has a state income tax which Florida did not. Now I will cover the negatives since you guys did a wonderful job covering the positives. Education: I noticed that you guys have started a family, and your daughter will probably be ok Pre-K through Elementary but any higher level you are going to have to think about private boarding school or move somewhere else. Medical: should you encounter a medical emergency you better pray that the volunteer fire department gets to you in time to stabilize you and evacuate you to Hendersonville or towards Atlanta. Specialty Doctors just not available. Entertainment: If Plays, Movies, Dancing and Fine Dinning is your thing look somewhere else. Social Life: every aspect of social life revolved around the local church so if your agnostic atheist or something similar, Good Luck finding friends. In conclusion I'm staying in Weaverville the plusses still outweigh the negatives.

    Considering moving from LA to NC. My family in NC keeps trying to convince me to at least try it out. But I’m really trying to see other peoples experience from a big city to smaller towns or cities

    Hey guys! We love your channel and watch all your videos. We live in south Florida and have a cabin in Bryson city which we purchased 4 years ago. We are in Bryson city every other month for a week or so at a time. ( we will be back up in early april). Would love to meet up and maybe get a coffee at dolce vita or mountain perks. (Or drinks at innovation). Not sure how if you're on FB, but feel free to reach out if you'd like to hook up. Thx!

    Great video and excellent advice! My wife and I went to Bryson City for Spring Break and we ended our vacation with an accepted offer on a cabin between BC and the NOC. Currently running it as an Airbnb and visiting from Charlotte when not booked. Ultimately, we cant wait to move to BC full-time once our kids graduate (10-12 years from now). Best place ever!
