Picking this camera up in 4th quarter 2021 for B Roll! And those jobs where a smaller, just grab and go will get the job done! This camera is really a fantastic value for the money!
I've owned the FZ100 for 2 years now. I shoot pro wedding videos with it. Stunning camera performance. You can't beat it for the price. It's time for a FZ300.
Ray Reinson I have the FZ150 and it works great for abandoned photography and video. Might upgrade to the FZ300 but $500 is a lot for a high school student.
4k resolution does not automatically equal crisp videos with amazing quality. Two different things. Buyer beware. This camera, and many other 4k cameras, use a sensor that would fit right on the tip of your pinky finger. Micro sized sensors trying to do 4k is basically garbage. Always research the camera and the size of the sensor it comes with. Then buy a camera with the biggest sensor you can afford. Some people don't mind the quality trade-off with smaller sensors, but just be aware of what you are buying.
Buying based on a sensor is not all that smart. it is the use of the camera as all you have to do do is change the aperture to double the amount of light allowed in to the senor. Then, if taking RAW, simply enhance the pixels to prepare it for enlargements.
I am using this camera already 1 year. It's an excellent camera for beginners. It's user friendly. It's lightweight wich is perfect for vlogging. Downside for me is the lowlight quality. If it had a bigger censor and seperate lenses it would be an awesome camera. But still.. i've had much fun with it and a perfect camera for beginners.
Well if you want interchangeable lenses get a DSLR. That's the whole idea of bridge cameras, to avoid carrying 5 kgs of gear !!. Id sacrifice a little bit of telephoto for a bit more wide angle on my FZ200.
I just got a Panasonic Lumix FZ300 and I am wondering how to set it up for video recording. By just not setting anything up in the camera and just pushing the red video record button, I have not managed to take one video without it being recorded in a very jerky fashion. Anything I try, the clips always show very jittery. Even resetting the camera didn't make a difference. I have tried it with the stabilization 'on' and 'off' - the clips are never smooth. I love the camera for still photography, no problem in that regard but, the video function is only frustrating so far. My old Canon D20 water camera is easy by comparison: just click the record button and it takes awesome stabilized videos. Can you give me a tip as to what to do to get my FZ300 to record jitter-free video ?
Hi Josh, Have you figured it out? I'm planning to buy one to record and take photos of my kids soccer, football, and basketball games.... Would you recommend this camera?
Is there a crop when shooting 4K ? The Fz1000 is currently on sale for about $600, should you recommend that over the Fz300? I mostly want it for video. Thanks in advance.
You mean live cropping function.. no doesn't have, don't know if they will update firmware. FZ1000 have has a larger sensor. FZ30012MP - 1/2.3" CMOS Sensor ISO 100 - 6400 25-600 mm F2.8 Zoom Lens 100 fps High-Speed Video 691g. Weather Sealed Body FZ1000 20MP - 1 CMOS Sensor ISO 125 - 12800 ( expands to 80-25600) 25-400 mm F2.8-4.0 Zoom Lens 120 fps High-Speed Video 831g.
learn share thanks for the answer. The Fz 1000 starts at 25mm at the widest but only in photo modes. In video it’s 28 at the widest when recording 1080p and around 36mm when shooting 4K because it crops into the sensor. I was wondering if the Fz300 had a similar issue? Thanks for your reply.
Well this bridging Camera is alright but it does suffer from having fitted a tiny image sensor, Pressure U.K. Fujifilm to make the New X-S2 which the X-S1 was Brilliant, as this older model can beat this newer FZ300 camera, by the X-S1's having a much larger EXR sensor etc..
Not a bad Camera if you can change the letters I would consider buying it. But you should be able to buy a camera that you can change out your lens on for 400. I think cameras are becoming way too expensive
Apart from the zoom, the video quality is pretty shit, especially in low light. The picture quality is descent thou, and with the nice zoom, you can get some cool shots.
I got this camera and Picture qualitie is very bad in low light 4K is not much vetter lots of Noise with 400 ISO with 100 a bit better is a very bad camera!

FZ80 is a nice upgrade to the FZ150 (I've owned it, too). Right now the FZ80 is $297 from B&H Photo , the FZ300 is $397.
Ray Reinson FZ300 is terrible
How so??
Could I ask what settings you use? My. Photos get grainy and noise af and now my flash Is broke

Nikon B700 o Panasonic FZ300?
I have a FZ150 and it’s still a good camera for now. Might upgrade later.
Bought this camera secondhand. The on off toggle suffers from latency after flipping a few times. Is this normal?
I guess not. Some milliseconds... or Check the battery.
Good explanation man
Would be the best budget camera that shoots 4k if you could interchange lenses... Nice video.
But you don't need other lenses. That's the point.
Great video! I am leaning towards this one. Have you used as a "webcam"?
Oh and nice voice!
No not yet but certainly have great attributes to work as a webcam 👍

That's a computer generated voice my man.

If you don't mind the slower lens.
Wow nice
What is a 4K Photo is it better then a 42mp camera
A 4k photo is 8mp so a 42mp photo is better

5 years now...600 CAD as of this recording, but the quality I see here I think justifies it for some use cases.

If I could have a lens like this in a bigger sensor I would never change it.
You don't need to. This lens covers it all up to 600mm.
