i love how the guy to the left of video and i think your right would just keep eating the Maha Chanok!!! it tells me it hit the spot!!! Love this mango!
I tried Maha Chanook a few years ago, and it is still one of the best tasting mangoes I have ever tried. I love the complex flavor profile. Maha Chanook has an interesting heritage. which kind of explains its complex flavors. MC come from a cross between Sunset a Florida cultivar, and the Thai Nang Clan Wan variety. But Sunset itself has an interesting heritage, its parents are Haden and the Indian Amini , so that's why you have that hint of Indian mango spice, the smoothness of Thai mango, and the traditional mango from Haden. anyway you can tell I am a fan of MC, since it's my thumbnail picture. I have a tree, has not produced yet, read that it is not precocious , so might be another year or two. fingers crossed for next year.
I have one too, and hopefully the little fruits on the flowers right now will continue to become big fruits. I tried to whip the trunk with a rubber hammer and slash it with a knife....and viola, 5 stems with flowers!😃. Watched it here in utube on how to make a mango flower.
@@may.africa I moved back to the US, I donated my tree to some in-laws that had a farm, never got to try my own fruit from that tree. back in south Fla, the only tree that has fruit on it, is my workhorse and reliable Pickering, I just purchased the mixed box of mango package from Chris at truly tropical, going to pick up tomorrow, hopefully get some new ones that I have never tried before. As for floral induction on trees, in the Dominican Republic, you can use, potassium nitrate sprays, from what i read this does not work well at higher latitudes. yes I have heard about stressing "lazy" trees to get them to shoot flowers, stress is a major factor in getting them to flower, in South Florida, dry winters with a couple of good cold snaps, helps trigger them. in India, they use smoke ( i guess it scares the wits out of the trees thinking there is a fire ) and sometimes hit the trees with machetes. I am not into SM on my trees :) Speaking of lazy trees, I have an Edgar, that produced fruit last year, this year, only two branches flowered, and it dropped the pea sized fruit it had on them, so nada on Edgar.
another beautiful video of mango tasting, looking forward for more tasting videos. thank you chris and crew at truly tropical, each day i complete my day by watching Truly Tropical… the best mangoplace in ut US of A
@@Enoch-Gnosis i know, i would eventually have to put it in the ground. The carrie i would try to grow in a container for a while and just prune back. The carrie being smaller is a pro on my list but im more concerned with the taste. Im leaning towards m4 but most top 5 ive seen, people love sweet tart!
Fays Of Our Lives ST is great tasting but a poor producer in South Florida , Pickering would be a better choice , small producing delicious fruit in Abundance
I tried a mahachanok, there was a different spelling missing an "o" on the label where I bought my mango. I had never seen this variety before, but apparently it is now grafted to about 20% of the mangoes in the Northern Territory, Australia. It is grafted onto the Kensington Pride mango. I agree with Har about not getting to close to the skin as it is very bitter. I liked this mango a lot. I intend to grow the seed, but I don't know if it is polyembryonic. I will graft it onto the KP mango in the future. I wonder if you have seen the honey gold variety, it is grown at Pinata farms, QLD. It is still the best mango I have ever tried, although the Valencia pride, when slightly under ripe and the mahachanok are nearly up there as well with the best for my taste.
Id love to see these three get blazed and do a review 😂 sorta hard to tell if they are already but i have to say the heat and humidity in Florida kinda gives you a natural high.
I would love for someone to taste my new variety i named after my mother patricia. Took eleven years to give fruit from a monoembryonic seed. The funny thing is i grew it for my son that likes mangos.last year was the first time i tasted a mango and i have lived in south florida for forty six years.the fruit on mine turns purple then fushia then teal then yellow and at the end it is red. All i do is shake the tree and the fruit fall off and are ripe. Others told me the chances of getting a good fruit weren't good so when i tried this one i was very surprised this tree gives fruit from the middle of july to middle august.
If you like the taste of sweetened Gerber baby food puréed cooked carrots, then Maha is the mango for you. Myself and my friends think Maha is highly overrated. I wouldn't buy the fruit, much less plant a tree.
Maha chinook... yes finally!. The dogs are equally enthusiastic about mangoes it seems.
Muhammed Suliman Maha tastes like Gerber carrots.
Steve M Your taste buds need some work.. LoL
Steve M 😅I've never tasted maha chinook. I'm not a fan of south east asian mangoes but the review seems quite good.

The honey gold mango a lot sweeter then any other mango I’ve tried, it’s so delicious!!
This was hilarious, I think all of you are a little more relaxed than the previous tasting so your personalities came out more. Wonderful series!!

You people has a whole plantation of mangoes and you give the poor dog mango peels?
They find plenty to eat, but somehow anything that we are eating tastes better to them.

Everybody tastes differently. Hopefully there are some mango varieties that you really LOVE!
